I know I'm new, but I've had this game bouncing around for a couple of years. I'm currently building my character charts into something searchable (so I can be lazy later)
He's a fool. A weak product of a corrupted and dying bloodline. Hantei got his power from the gods, that's true, but how long ago?
-Hida Kisada
For those who don't know the setting:
Rokugan is a sprawling Empire based on mythic East Asia, mainly Japan. Players take the roles of young samurai or monks and navigate the conflicting requirements of bushido, loyalty, and ambition. Broadly, there are three types of samurai: bushi, the warriors; courtiers, politicians and diplomats; and shugenja, the priests and spell casters. The game balances politics, warfare, and investigation, and all are potentionally deadly.
The Setting for the Campaign:
The end of The Thousand Years of Peace, specifically 1121 (The Eighteenth Year of the Rule of Hantei XXXVIII), the Setsuban Festival at the Ki-Rin's Shrine in Phoenix lands. It has been announced the Otomo Yoroshiku (the Emperor's neice) is seeking a husband and will entertain suitors at the Festival and later at Shiro Gisu for Winter Court. The festival also features a tournement for shugenja. Players would not likely be in the running to marry the imperial bride, but could arrive as retainers of suitors, yojimbo to the shugenja participating, or simply by being assigned to the local Winter Court.
Basically, i want to guage interest and answer questions.
