bug/community_dice_rules

Feb 1, 2022 7:22 am
The last release introduced a bug that broke reading the repository of custom dice rules and custom character sheets.

This means that:
The custom dice rules aren't offered on edit game (they still work, it just doesn't read the thread)
New custom character sheets don't offer the templates (and would need to be manually copy/pasted).

Have you looked at this on staging? Public

No
Yes - I'm happy with it

I tend to copy/paste by force of habit, so had not noticed these were missing.

On mapdm clicking on a dice rules option replaces what is there.
That does not seem right. If it is intended, it should be noted so people don't accidentally lose what that had painstakingly crafted.

Replacing the character sheet template might be the right thing, but maybe it would be better to just insert the template text instead of deleting what is already there?

I hadn't noticed this before either but yes, it looks good on mapdm.

I do agree with vague's comments about adding rather than replacing, though! Especially with the character sheets. I imagine someone crafting a full sheet, then noticing that dropdown, clicking on something and suddenly, their work of the last hour is gone

With no way to 'save' along the way other than exiting and coming back into the sheet... :(

Both good suggestions for improvement, but this branch is just looking at fixing what I broke.

In that case, it seems to be working!
