Friday Night

Jun 15, 2016 2:23 pm
It's Friday night at the Ranchbowl, a bowling alley with a bar attached and the crowd is starting to congregate in the bar since the live band is almost done setting up. The doors to the outside sand volley bowl court are still open as the nighttime lights kick in as part of the crowd mill in for drinks and some tunes. It's hot, but it's summertime in the Midwest. It would probably be cooler in the bar if the random beer bottle hadn't been thrown at the AC system during a fight last weekend but business hasn't waned that much plus people occasionally pop into the bowling alley to cool off when needed. Ice cold beers seem to be selling exceptionally well and may be the reason fixing the AC hasn't been a priority.

The band starts playing an appropriate song for the weather and the situation it seems.

Ted has just come in from outside in the smoke area laughing with three girls in tow as the bouncer checks their arm bands for legal age drinking patrons entering. He thinks twice about taking one last drag since the guy is looking at him almost daring him to get thrown out. Mike sips his beer and gets in a few more practice shots at the darts board fending off another set of guys coming over to see if he was done so they could play. Chester looks at his phone from his stool against the wall by the sound engineering's booth and notices Will and Ronald both just checked in and texts the rest of the group that they're here. Will and Ronald catchup on the way in and Will is slightly surprised Ronald looks at the photos he shows on his phone and listens to his story about his kids chances of winning first in this season's tournament soccer league. Donald groans from behind the bar looking at the wall and the time. He still has an hour left on the clock and when the other bartenders aren't looking he downs a shot of tequila as compensation.

Mike and Todd find two guys coming up to challenge them to darts with the addition of a few ladies hanging around Ted now in tow.

Donny finds himself putting down the shot glass to several customers rushing the bar for beer, soda, or mixed drinks all waving money at him. The other bartenders are already filling order at their area of the bar.

Chester while waiting for the last two to show up overhear the sound engineer curse since he just lost sound for some of the equipment between sets.

Ronny and Will are outside waiting in line to get ID'd and let in.
OOC:
Everyone's got a bit of a different skill set to show how the system works and showcase things. Intro posts if you don't mind and the following are the initial challenges

Ted a& Mike can accept the challenge and impress the ladies possibly get a bit of a show going, considering how packed the place is getting it'll be one of the few places besides outside where the whole group would have room to stretch.

Donnies got a bit of time left on the clock but some quick and stylish bartending will probably make the time fly by, the ladies scream, and some extra spending money in the form of tips.

Chester can leave the sound engineer or help him out in finding his issue.

Will and Ronald are just a few people from the Bouncer now, he keeps looking at Ronny funny and looking at his watch.

Yeah, William Junior is set to make it all the way if their team keeps doing so well. I was just telling Julia the other day that we got one heck of an athlete on our hands. Only 12 years old! Can you believe it, I say as I continue to jabber Ronny's ear off while we wait in line to get in.

"Then there is little Stacy, top of her class. She even made student body president", I continue to prattle on flipping through picture after picture of my kids. "She really takes after Julia", I add and suddenly get a disheartened look on my face. "Speaking of which, maybe I should text her, just let her know I got here safe. You know how wives always worry."

Walking back into the bar playing with the E-Cig, still wanting to smoke. "..and I threw the game winning dart, knocking the other guys dart out of the bulls-eye. That's the only way I win is with style." Walking back over to the dart board area I'm keeping a lookout, I know this place has fights on the occasion. After getting back to the the area of the bar I was at before. I look over to the bar locating Donny. "Hey Donny get me three beers over here for these beautiful girls."

Ronald stood at the end of the line listening to Will jabber on about his kids, or his wife or whatever. He stuck out like a sore thumb even in a place like this. The anti-swaztika tattoo on the back of his hand was prominently displayed amongst others. This coupled with his quick temper had gotten him into serious trouble in the past. Even now the bouncer was giving him a funny look. One thing Ronny learned in the joint was to always keep your eye on a guy who gives you a funny look.

That sounds real nice about Will Jr.

Hey Ted, got a few guys looking for a game. Come on over and let's shoot some darts. Mike pulls out the last darts as he's talking to Ted.

Donny gets Ted the beers but doesn't have a lot of time to talk besides giving him a total before a group of girls are waving money at him.

Remnant sent a note to justin77
Will and Ronny get to the bouncer how looks at his watch a few more times while checking out Will's ID. Handing it back he take Ron's ID and gives it the once over looking back you Ronny a few times. "We're starting to charge a cover now so you got to pay five ta get in. I don't know you but something about you is familiar so it's giving me an 'off type of vibe' man. You don't have any warrants out or anything do you?"
OOC:
The two of you figure out he was looking at his watch for when to start charging. Ronny thinks it's a bit off he took so long with Will so that Ronny would be the first one that needed to pay for the night.

"Sure Mike, I'll let you try and beat me after the last time I wiped the floor with ya."
Laughing heartedly I turn back and tell the girls. "Give me a moment, need to teach my friend how to play darts. Your drinks will be by soon." Giving them one last wink I head over to Mike.

I only have one warrant for being a nosy mother *#@!er what about you?
I give him the five for me and five for Will (assuming I have it.)

I am almost oblivious to the exchange as I'm now on the phone with Julia. Yes... Yes, but... I know you want me to call but... Yes, I know about that story going around Facebook about the woman who was abducted when someone stole her husbands phone and started texting her... I mean, you can't believe everything you hear online... I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to insinuate... Okay... Okay... OKAY... Look I will call you in a bit we are at the door trying to get in... Okay... Yes... Love you too... Hugs and kisses... Love you too... Okay... Okay... Love you too, honey... Okay... Bye.

I look up from the exchange to the bouncer and Ronny. What's that now, fella?

The Bouncer hands Ronny back a five since Will didn't have to pay, "You here to drink and have a good time I ain't got a problem. Anyone cause a ruckus including you and those involved will be out faster than you can spit. You look like the kind that starts trouble, I got a stun gun and the cops on speed dial. So I just need to know are we going to have a problem here?" he states looking up at the larger man Ronny.

People behind the two of you were complaining about the line before and the conversation. Now people are quiet and phones have popped out to possibly record a fight to post.

I step between Ronny and the bouncer. No problem here, friend. Just some old friends meeting up for some drinks. I don't often get nights like these away from kid duty, so let's keep it friendly, huh?, I say to the bouncer. I'm a good 6 inches shorter than him, but I try to flash him my best smile.

Julia would hand it to me later if she ever saw me stand in front of this guy like this, I think to myself.

Meanwhile inside...

"Bro.... Really? Like seriously?" on of the two challengers says looking to his friend before looking at Ted and Mikey with disappointment.
Jun 21, 2016 12:12 am
"Bro they can't be that good..." the other states before they both pull out small cases from a cargo pocket of their shorts to reveal custom darts.

OOC:
I'll resolve Ronny & Will after seeing what Ronny states.

For Ted and Mikey three throwing rolls each with a wild die. If you don't have the skill it's d4-2. Once you two are done Ted could try some mental mind games with a social skill.

For Chester and Donny I'll post when they post.
Jun 21, 2016 1:49 am
"Stand back pouch boys, I don't even need.." I over gesture air quotes ""Special Darts" for a silly bar game."
OOC:
I will want to socially antagonize them to try to get them to fail.

Donny has been busy, servin' drinks and makin' cash. He steps up to the bar, full of customers. Donny selects a group of attractive ladies, pretty sure they were the first to step up (or at least, pretty sure they're the cutest ladies at the bar right now), "Ladies, what are we havin' tonight?"
Jun 21, 2016 4:37 am
Why don't you just keep your stun gun holstered. It's like my friend says, we're just here for the beer
Jun 21, 2016 11:54 am
@ Holmag for Ted

The two young guys physically have facial spasms calling darts a silly game.

Unfortunately Ted's first dart bounces off the board and falls getting a laugh out of the two, the next two land on 10 and 8 netting him eighteen points.
OOC:
To mess with them you have Taunt & Intimidate at a d6 Persuade at d10 doesn't really seem to fit unless you can come up with a good RP. Roll whichever one and your wild die take the higher.
