Y'know.. that NPC dude...

I'm using the NPC tag now, but I saw this from a player "I find it very helpful to have every NPC's name listed under characters."

I kinda forgot that players liked seeing that info too.

Any ideas for fixes and workarounds?

Maybe allow GMs to put some of their custom character sheets on the bottom for players to see? I plan my NPCs in advance, but I suppose I could move them to a shared "player notes" sheet as I introduce them. Currently, we don't have a way for a GM to share a sheet with the players.

I don't really understand what's being wanted here. NPC names listed along PC names on the Game Details? Or in the red bar?

Then the second part just seems to be talking about making a public NPC sheet, which you can already do

So the problem is..

In DoIP the player could do this:



...to see the names of the NPCs they'd met whilst making a post.

Now they see this:



...because I don't create NPCs like I did in DoIP.

A solution I was thinking about.

I'm suggesting that GMs can choose a sheet to be visible to players under the roller.



...so they can open it in-game and see things the GM has shared with them (which could be important maps, NPCs etc).

Tricky because they don't have sheets to link to.

Maybe the GM can create a 'roster' thread (maybe one post per character?) and link that to the Characters menu (via Game Details Advanced Rules Definitions)?

Ah, yes.

I have wanted my players to have access to those linked sheets and their snippets. It always seemed strange that only the GM could see them.

We already have a "gmSheets": directive. Why not extend that to a "playerSheets": section?

Seems like just sharing an NPC sheet would do the job.
I guess having it at the bottom there to just unfold rather than open in a new tab would be an improvement for that purpose

But if we do revisit this, then vagueGM's suggestion of playerSheets sounds right.
