Bwaudan Luossa introduction thread

Mar 28, 2022 10:30 am
Bwaudan finds himself at the docks for the ships. He is doing his rounds maintaining the newly arrived ship. He has heard that these newcomers have caused quite a stir. A fight occurred at the section of office section of the complex. At the shower area, a couple of rowdy heavy machinery technicians have assaulted the new guys. The new guys seemingly managed to knock out the thugs by themselves, though with the priest being injured as well. From there, you heard that they just left the colony base on a truck, to look for The Face, the location that is rumoured to be extremely cursed.

You know not too much about it, other than it causing a lot of drama since its discovery. A number of staff have begun to develop nightmares about it, and a few have formed a club discussing it, perhaps it even could be described as a cult. Maybe having a priest on board would do good, too bad he is now in the infirmary with the other club/cult members.

What might this space dock worker think about this?
Mar 29, 2022 10:07 pm
Bwaudan considers the events, or at least what he has heard about the events.

A cult. Holy crap. These people can be dangerous, I never liked fanatics. Still, I want some info on that site, The Face. What kind of shitty name is this? Like back on Earth presidents in the rocks?

He scrapes the back of his hand on the scaffolding of a part that's been selected for repair.

Ah. Focus on the job, idiot. You'll get yourself maimed or killed before even having a good look around at this rate. ... Canteen, maybe? Or the watering hole, what's the name?

Banging his head on a low-hanging part of the hull, the docker focuses on the job this time. After finishing his shift, he heads for the nearest canteen, pub, mess hall, or whatever these guys have for gathering and socializing.

OOC:
Note: Earth exists, but everone's homeworld is called Darst. Its been a thousand years since mankind on Darst have traveled off planet, until now. Many believe it was aliens that sabotaged Darst's civilisation to fall into the dark age.
Bwaudan heads over to the canteen hub. It is a fairly large, well cleaned place. The windows in the domed ceiling shows the starry sky. The food staff are lying back, waiting for anybody to come over to purchase from their stall. Here, staff pay for their meals. Despite being under the same organisation, The United Advancement wants to encourage an independent economy on each of the colony bases.

Right now, a few staff can be seen having their meals at their own tables. An electrician, a low level office worker, and a janitor can be identified by their uniforms. The Electrician has a pair of gauntlets on his table, the Office Worker have a touchscreen tablet on his table, and the Janitor has nothing with him.
Mar 30, 2022 10:20 am
The muscled docker picks some relatively cheap meal with hopefully high protein content, then walks up to the janitor's table.

I bet this guy is not as uptight as the other two might be.

When he's there, Bwaudan nods to the guy and indicates with his tray he'd like to sit there. "Do you mind?"
Mar 31, 2022 12:13 pm
The cheapest high protein meal is something like assorted pieces of simply cooked meat. It costs 1 Credit.
(calculation based on 1 week of rations is 30 Credits, 1 day is about 4 Credits, and so a basic meal would be about 1 or 2 Credits.)

The janitor looks up from the sandwich he is munching on. At first, he was hesitant as he looks Bwaudan up and down first, but soon he shakes his head. "No, I don't mind. Go ahead." The janitor seems to be nervous, despite his attempt to act cool. He seems to be roughly 30 years old, and has bags under his eyes. No tattoos or jewellery are seen, and his hair is a natural black.
OOC:
Depending on your questions or conversation with this guy, there is a chance to scare him off that might make further investigation a little harder. Negative effects here are only narrative for now.
Apr 3, 2022 8:03 pm
He instantly starts eating, and talks meanwhile, though not explicitly in a disgusting way.
"Didn't mean to bother you, mate. I'm new here, and looking for some insider info about this place. You know, stuff beyond the 'Dormitory this way' signs."

The docker finishes a few bites, then continues. "Who to be careful around, who to trust to help, who can get stuff you can't normally get, and the like. Name's Bwaudan."
OOC:
Can there be a 'legend' like a cult that carved board members' faces into giant rocks? :)
Should I count that credit for the meal?

OOC:
luck roll: result is fail. The Credit is legit deducted. I'll help you with that for now.
The Janitor pauses his meal to listen, before answering.
"The name is Samuel. If you want to know what is the one thing you most definitely want to watch out for, it is these worshippers of The Face. I was approached by one of them to join their club, but hearing them explain their object of obsession makes me think their study group is more like a cult. Their creepy talk of Watchers, and their growing popularity with some of my fellow cleaners have troubled me into not have a good night's sleep these past few weeks..."

He shakes his head before continuing, while giving a quick look at his surroundings.
"And so I had to get special medications. It isn't too strong, but it works at least. Gives me less anxiety working here. It's technically not an official prescription here, if you know what I mean. If you have stress problems like me, or want to get a little high off work hours, you could ask for a "nurse" around the toilets near the Electronics Labs.

If you want to speak to someone about the Cult, you better not ask around too randomly. They will either want to stay away from you, or worse, is an annoying member that wants to drag you into their madness. It's best that you look for the Assistant Communications Officer, Samantha. She have recently put out a recruitment request to investigate that lonely and distant place we call The Face. I unintentionally looked at an image of it, and now it have haunted the corners of my eyes. Those eyes are very uncanny..."

He begins to stare off into the distance, absent mindedly.

As the docker continues his meal, he listens intently to Samuel, especially while he's talking about The Face and its cult.

"Quite the fan club, by the sound of it. I don't like fanatics myself, either. They give me the creeps."

After a few more bites and some contemplation, Bwaudan continues the chat. "Thanks, Samuel. And if you need some heavy lifting, you know who to ask. I appreciate your help."
Apr 6, 2022 2:32 pm
Samuel refocuses back, forcing a grin. "Thanks Bwaudan. But I doubt there is much you can help me with... Hmm. There is one thing you could help me out with. Here, take this candy box. It is almost empty now. If you can help find the "Nurse", tell her to top up my usual. She will take it from you. If you are fine with this, I'll pay you 10 Credits for your troubles now."

As Samuel finishes up his sandwich, Bwaudan senses someone is listening in. Either the Electrician, or the Office Worker. Maybe both.
OOC:
Btw, I noticed that magnetic boots is a thing that is sold for 50 Credits. I'll take that back, for fairness. But, I'll let you have your Communicator.
Apr 7, 2022 9:16 pm
Eyes lighting up at the prospect of gaining money, Bwaudan nods several times before speaking. "Cool, I'll go and ..." He quickly turn towards the office worker first, then checks out the electrician as well.

OOC:
I have removed it for you. Also, I'll add the 10 Credits.
Bwaudan takes the small box and the Credits, which temporarily take the form of coins which could later be transferred into his Credit account. (Don't need to think about this too much. Normally a credit card is used, but tokens exist too.)

When Bwadan goes to the Office Worker's table, the glasses-wearing man gripped his tablet device close to him. "What... what do you want with me?" He asks nervously but with a stern tone.
Apr 19, 2022 3:48 pm
After waving goodbye to Samuel, the docker decides to check out the eavesdropper(s).

"Saying hello. If you haven't noticed I'm new here. Do you know Samuel?" he asks the guy with slight nod towards his previous dining mate.
Apr 21, 2022 5:31 am
The white collar worker looks to Samuel, then back to Bwaudan.
"I don't really care to know too much about the individuals from other departments. Especially if they are one of the lowest paid staff here. However, I do wish that you won't contribute to the growing mess in our home. We already have fools worshipping a god that is a geological structure. We don't need drug addicts too. If you want to gain favour with us higher ups, you would want to report this." The man raises an eyebrow while whispering the last sentence.

Brauwdan can tell that the technician guy is watching the conversation intensely.
Apr 27, 2022 7:33 am
They want me to be a snitch??? That's not gonna happen, for sure.

"You know, the growing mess wouldn't be there in the first place, if you higher ups did your job properly. I wanted to say hello, because I thought that's the civilized way, and I supposed this is a civilized place. Somewhat civilized, at least."
May 3, 2022 11:51 am
The office worker sighed and readjusted his glasses. "While I share your sentiments partly, in regards to the growing mismanagement of the situation here, I think you are missing an opportunity yourself. I won't press you about reporting, perhaps you will find better friends with the labourers of our community.

You look like a nice, sane guy. Not smart, but nice. So I will give you a little more advice. This place is getting less civilised, so not everyone is going to be friendly with your "hi"s and "hello"s. If you want to at least help us with the distracting fanatism problem, go look for Ms Samantha, the Assistant Communications Officer. Tell her Theo from Administration sent you. You can help Management that way without being a snitch."
May 3, 2022 6:01 pm
"Hm. Will think about that. Where do I find this Amanda?"
May 15, 2022 4:37 am
Theo the administrator gives directions. There is a hub section for offices, where Amanda's office is. It will be on the second storey, looking over into the passageway below, and the other side have the view of the desolate surface of the planet and the rest of the colony complex.

Now, the question is, what will Bwaudan try to do first?
May 15, 2022 1:36 pm
The docker nods grumpily towards Theo, then glances at the electrician without addressing him. I've had enough of these tight-assed white-collars. ... On second thought, though, the electrician is not one of those, that's a real working man.

He stops briefly at his table. "Do you get angry, too, if I say hello?"

Whatever this conversation leads to, and he just intends this to be a short introduction, he's heading to part where the place is the busiest this hour of the day. He wants to find 'the Nurse'.

The Electrician looks up to look into Bwaudan's eyes as he approaches his table to greet him. The man in overalls rubs his chin in thought at the question. "Hmm. I don't see why I would. Hello Bwaudan. I hope you don't mind me being a busy body. New staff interests me, they are fresh and full of passion for the job, not like the rest of these sorry folks who see their work-home like a prison. I don't see it that way. We are on the frontier of progress after all, and we get new toys like this..." He demonstrates by putting on one of the gloves he has on. With a gesture, the fingertips of the gauntlet shoot out extensions that look like long nails.

"I plan to make this more useful, having electricity run through it to be used for welding. Too bad I only managed to give myself superficial burns, heh heh! By the way, the name is Sabe Ruth.

I... also can't help but notice your curiosity about the Club. Well, there are many that think it is a cult or something, but it is actually a passionate gathering of humble folks that like to find inspiring understanding of The Face phenomenon. Unlike the other boring workers, we are a brotherly bunch that welcomes all who are suffering from nightmares and depression that plagues this place! If you wish to know more, I can bring you to join one of our meetings!"
May 17, 2022 10:09 pm
"That sounds too kinky to me, Sabe. Nice job on that glove, though."

The Club, now. Is tuxedo part of the dress code? Bwaudan thinks to himself, more amused than creeped out by this guy.

"Gotta run now, but hope to see you soon."
May 23, 2022 12:29 am
Sabe starts to pout a little at the rejection, but quickly forms back the sly smile he has.

Bwaudan now walks away from the canteen, and towards the research sector. There, the corridors are flanked by windows opening into labs of all sorts. From plants to chemicals to electronics. He then looks for the toilets nearby. A janitor's cleaning cart is stationed in the way of the women's bathroom. No one is visibly around, and the only noise is from the whirring of machines being run in the nearby rooms.
May 28, 2022 9:33 pm
Phew. First thing people will see of me is entering the lady's. the docker thinks to himself, then steps over (or around) the janitor's cart, clears his throat, then says loudly "Hey. Is there anybody in there? I'm looking for someone and don't know who to ask."
Jun 7, 2022 10:37 am
Heavy footsteps can be heard as a lady comes out. She is wearing a janitor's uniform. She looks short, yet muscular, and her face has a scar running across it.

She looks up at Bwaudan with a mean expression before asking roughly. "What do yer want? And looks like yer in the wrong room, sir. Yer best be havin a medical emergency or somethin."
