Hi All: I'm looking for a player or GM for one-on-one (duet) or maybe a trio or quartet (keep it small) so we can learn how to play Fate together (preferably Accelerated, but Condensed looks good too.) I'm roughly familiar with Fate concepts (and played in a couple one-shots), but I find the process of refereeing PC aspects/stunts (without breaking the game) to be rather intimidating! If you're interested and know how to play, then perhaps I can learn from you. If you're interested and don't really know how to play, then perhaps we can learn how to play together at a casual pace.
I'm especially interested in a Grimm Fairytale "portal" Fantasy setting (my favorite subgenre) with lighthearted/cartoon tone (no gratuitous/graphic violence in our story please) (like a conversion of Grimm The Roleplaying Game or Lost in the Fantasy World to Fate mechanics) (media examples: Jim Henson's Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, The Black Cauldron (Prydain), Return to Oz, Dungeons & Dragons TV Series, The King's Quest series) -- if you have a favorite, let me know. Premise is we're common folk or common kids who are whisked away to a fairyland (and there are probably witches causing trouble, sleeping giants, etc.) -- this could be a low magic for PCs world.
About me: I'm a fan of narrative fiction-first theater-of-the-mind and collaborative storytelling style of play, but most of my experience is with original D&D (yes, I prefer all weapons do 1d6 damage!) Many TTRPG systems are very fixed to a specific genre or tone and Fate looks to be a good way to break free from that (as such, Cypher, Genesys, Quest RPG look fun too.) Thank you in advance.
