Captain Lyranius Fleece, driven by rumors of a mystical land beyond the Solemseas, convinced King Urithin IX to finance a fleet to sail where none dared sail before. Those desperate enough to go on such a mission were mostly pardoned pirates and criminals.

After over a year on the sea, a storm smashed the fleet onto a jagged coast of a massive, mist-shrouded island. Captain Fleece lies dead on the deck, crushed by a falling mast.

The Island thrums with energy. It doesn’t want you here. But, here you are. Can you survive?

We play to find out what happens to those that survived (about 500 people or so).

I'm interested in GMing a 1 GM 1 Player game, with World of Dungeons as the core system, but drifting or adding rules to fit the genre and setting. I wish to learn the Gamers Plane interface on the smaller (1-on-1) scale before I decide to jump into the deep end of a multi-player setting.

I rely heavily on shared world-building techniques. We play to discover and find out. Start with a few set principles and concepts that are fixed, and then we use the mechanic to establish world facts during play.

GM Posts: 1-2 per week-- mostly on the Weekend.
We would agree beforehand how long we want the game to run-- we will be always looking at the fiction to find a good place to end the story.

Various ideas:

Pitch 1: A fleet of wooden ships smashed upon a mysterious island. Do the people survive? What are the horrors of the island? A tone of foreboding mystery and dread. Serious drama, action, adventure. Main PC goals would be survival and exploration in the face of factional human drama on how the survivors organize themselves.

Pitch 2: The Nightmare storms subside. For generations people were hunkered down, just fighting for survival against the storms. As the storms receded, there are now lands and opportunities to explore and adventure. What is out there? Did any other pockets of civilization survive? A tone of hope and discovery. Main PC goals would include exploring for riches and information. Hex crawl procedures. Open to any fantasy level - introduction of Dungeon World like mechanics possible.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions about Gamersplan, PbP, or World of Dungeons.
Off-topic, I know, but: To answer the question on your profile page: I think Brindlewood Bay would be a great fit for PbP. The 'cozy' pacing of the adventure would blend well with the the slower pace of PbP.

It is basically PbtA, which many --myself included-- feel is an ideal system for PbP.

The 'session' based stuff would need a little massaging since sessions are not really a thing in PbP, but they are easy enough to treat as 'chapter' markers instead.

I'm interested in the World of Dungeons and I love the idea of an island survival story - so if you don't mind someone with no experience in the system, I'll be happy to play with you! :D

Ok, Flyingsucculent. I'll take a crack at starting up a game and send an invite.
