I'm interested in GMing a 1 GM 1 Player game, with World of Dungeons as the core system, but drifting or adding rules to fit the genre and setting. I wish to learn the Gamers Plane interface on the smaller (1-on-1) scale before I decide to jump into the deep end of a multi-player setting.
I rely heavily on shared world-building techniques. We play to discover and find out. Start with a few set principles and concepts that are fixed, and then we use the mechanic to establish world facts during play.
GM Posts: 1-2 per week-- mostly on the Weekend.
We would agree beforehand how long we want the game to run-- we will be always looking at the fiction to find a good place to end the story.
Various ideas:
Pitch 1: A fleet of wooden ships smashed upon a mysterious island. Do the people survive? What are the horrors of the island? A tone of foreboding mystery and dread. Serious drama, action, adventure. Main PC goals would be survival and exploration in the face of factional human drama on how the survivors organize themselves.
Pitch 2: The Nightmare storms subside. For generations people were hunkered down, just fighting for survival against the storms. As the storms receded, there are now lands and opportunities to explore and adventure. What is out there? Did any other pockets of civilization survive? A tone of hope and discovery. Main PC goals would include exploring for riches and information. Hex crawl procedures. Open to any fantasy level - introduction of Dungeon World like mechanics possible.
