I am interested in playing the Outsider, Whimsy from the Realm of Faerie out to explore the world her people let centuries ago. I have played Masks before but I did not play for long. I have played other PBTA games as well. I would love to see a scene where the group has to visit a Faerie market in search of something.

Oh! Me! ME! PICK ME!

Pitch:
1. I'd like to play The Transformed. My character concept is Cthulhu Girl. She was kidnapped by a dark cult to be used in a ritual to summon a cosmic horror. She was rescued before the ritual was complete... but not before it got started. As a result, she ended up taking on traits of the entity being summoned, most notable being four tentacles (like an organic Doctor Octopus). Yes, it's a weird concept., I know.

2. I have the Masks rulebook and I've played it a few times in PbP, though each game was short-lived. I have played several other PbtA games including the original Apocalypse World, Monster of the Week, Monsterhearts, and a zombie apocalypse hack.

3. I would like to see a kaiju attacking the city.

Thanks for offering this one, huttyman. Masks is such a great game.

I'm interested in a Janus, a Tums chewing nervous kid desperate to keep his family from finding out about his oddities. What oddities? His body is basically made of glue.

I've played Masks once before, played Dungeon World once or twice, a few other pbta games, and I've GM'd Kult and Offworlders. Definitely still a pbta novice though.

For a scene, I'd love to see a school trip gone awry, where the supes have to save their friends and frenemies who are trapped in a bus/boat/blimp or something.

I'm in a lot of games so only take me if you need an extra player.

I'm interested in a Doomed character that indulges in their power in order to escape reality. I'm thinking that their nemesis is something similar to the "immortal snail that kills you when it touches you" meme. It would be something that keeps them up at night with dread, hence the power abuse.

I have not played Masks, but I have played a number of PbtA derived games, so I know what's what generally.

A scene that I would like to see is a supposed villain revealing some surprisingly valid motives for their evil plan. I've always liked a good villain monologue that actually makes sense.

Wow, Thx for interest in the game guys. I will wait about 2-3 days more to see if more people coming. But so far we got at least 3 players already. Awesome

Just gonna say I'm interested, but haven't had a chance to flick through playbooks yet. Will hopefully throw up a character pitch tomorrow.

Registered a new account on gamersplane just to find Masks: A new generation games just like this one.

1. I'm thinking about playing two playbooks in particular, the delinquent and the outsider.

- My Delinquent is the Boogeyman, or better known as Cassandra Smith. She basically grew up in foster care after her parents disappeared out of the blue, which she blames the people in authority for not doing their due diligence and helping locate them, or at least their bodies. Cass has a rebellious attitude mixed with a mischievous streak, pulling pranks and such against anyone that would think of bossing her around, which drew the ire of the authorities more often than not. When her powers manifested, she gained the ability to teleport when she was not in a line of vision and make all sorts of weapons, which were dependent on her knowledge of the object's creation. Becoming a hero was just the second step. What better targets for her pranks than the hoity-toity villains who think they're so much better than her?

-For the Outsider... First, an explanation of the Scale. The closest organism that could be compared with a Scale are the cells that make up our bodies. It is nothing much by itself, but together with other Scales, they make up the greater whole of an all-powerful Primordial Worm which stalks the shadow of the cosmos. But the Worm was not alone; there were plenty of others like it, and the darkness of space was rife with conflict between these incomprehensible creatures as their own form of evolution produced more powerful Worms. An eternal cycle of conflict. One particular Scale had begun showing cancerous tendencies, disobeying prime directives and even gaining complete sentience with free will. After experiencing the Scale-equivalent of a midlife crisis, it did not want to participate in further conflicts and decided to break away from the greater being it was a part of. It roamed the stars for a while, until its attention was caught by a dying girl uttering her last wishes after being injured in a villain attack. The Scale decided to grant her wish and melded their consciousnesses together into a single person, through which the Scale provided fantastic telepathy and complete density control while having the girl's humanity guide her in this strange new environment.

2. I've joined a single game so far and the system seems easy enough for me to follow. Much easier than the number-crunching involved in more complicated systems like DnD 4e and both versions of Pathfinder.

3. A fight sequence with portals involved, the villain and my character could brawl their way to all over the world and maybe even fight on the moon as well.

Apologies these are written at a time too early in the morning on a bus but hopefully they are coherant.

I will say happy to not get a space if there's too many, I do have a few games already.

Concept One: A legacy character that has be taught all her life how to be the perfect girl, the perfect role model, and to always bring pride to the family, both in civilian life and as the newest member of the hero team when. She's just come into her powers, she's doing well in her classes needed to become a doctor, and there's a guy her family are sure will be a good fit for her that comes from another hero family. After all family knows best. Everything in life is perfect. Except not all her powers are working, she finds herself long to be in music lessons instead of science and there's that cute girl in class that is very distracting...

Concept Two: A Bull that until recently was still until the control of her scientist father, who would experiment on her and others to make minions to achieve evil schemes. Recently got rescued by a local supe who is trying to look after her, and she's struggling between trying to have a normal life for once, or try and help out and pay back the community she used to help.. Except whenever she's tries to help, things break, especially if she gets mad.

I've not had much luck with pbta games. I've filled out a few play books, but they have never really taken off. Never masks though.

For a scene I'm always a sucker for heart to hearts among parties/teams after they've got to know each other and start to realise they need to help one another/get along to do the thing.

How would I go about playing Kid Goku?

Unsolicited advice: do not arrive at Masks with preconceived notions of exactly who you want to play. Pick a playbook and lean into the decisions it asks you to make, and the pathways it lays out...

Hi! This is a really great game that I’ve always been meaning to play!

My pitch:

Taking the advice from Harrigan - I feel like leaning into the playbook of the Protégé. It would definitely be an opportunity to roleplay a young hero that maybe doesn’t even have any super powers but was given the chance to do some good in the world by his mentor. He’s young, brash, that’s for sure since he’s just a teen, but he’s brave enough to fight for what he believes in, whatever that is.

I’ve never played Masks before but I learn on the fly and am an experienced D&D 5e player. I am also more than willing to study the handbook if needed.

A scene I hope to see is on par with what LightofMidnight mentioned. Where the group truly comes together as one and becomes a true unit that works flawlessly in unison. However, it’s up to the others to decide how the heroes go along their journey.
