Against the Cult of the Reptile God
✅ This will be a Savage Worlds (SWADE) rendition of the classic module Against the Cult of the Reptile God. It is set in the World of Greyhawk fantasy setting. One thing that must be noted up front: My wife is blind and I serve as her eyes. I take dictation for her emails and read them to her, and I do all the driving, as well as a lot of other little things. I will try to post as often as the players do but sometimes, real-life must take precedence. My wife must come first! If I will be unavailable to post for a week or more, I will alert you prior to this happening.
✅ Terror by night! The village of Orlane is dying. Once a small and thriving community. Orlane has become a maze of locked doors and frightened faces. Strangers are shunned, trade has withered. Rumors flourish, growing wilder with each retelling. Terrified peasants flee their homes, abandoning the farms with no explanation. Others simply disappear...
No one seems to know the cause of the decay--why are there no clues? Who skulks through the twisted shadows of the night? Who or what is behind the doom that has overtaken the village? It will take a brave and skillful band of adventurers to solve the dark riddle of Orlane!
✅ There may be some adult and/or controversial themes in this adventure. While I don't specifically know of any such material, I want it to be known that it might exist. In general, we will keep things to a PG-13 level. Violence will not be explicitly described and if things get spicy, we will "fade to black."
✅ All characters should be of Novice rank and should be of a tech level approximately equal to the medieval period.
✅ The following Setting Rules are in effect: Born a Hero, Conviction, Creative Combat, Downtime, Dynamic Backlash, Fanatics, Fast Healing, High Adventure, Multiple Languages, and Wound Cap.
✅ This game will encompass the whole of the module and nothing else. After the completion of the module, the game will end. I will try to post as often as the players do and expect a minimum of three posts per week, but the pace may get a little slow at times.
✅ No specialized resources will be required. Much of the action will be theater of the mind, though I will post a running map for the benefit of the players.
✅ This game is open to anyone interested who will be in it for the long haul. I'm going to be a bit rude here, but if you are going to ghost us a few weeks in, please do not apply. I want people who will stick with it.
✅ I do not have an application process, but I do have only six slots and five are filled by persons of interest. The last two slot will go to the first person to request it.
✅ This game is explicitly friendly to LGBT and any other minorities or marginalized groups.
