Windyridge and I, with the playtesting help of several of GP's own, wrote a rules light, highly specific RPG and have the Kickstarter up and going. It ends August 31, and we need a bit more to reach our funding goal.
ACHE Island
Medical-drama island-survival tabletop roleplaying game
Many roleplaying games involve action and combat as the primary goal. In ACHE Island, we wanted to put the focus on interpersonal drama. We took our inspiration from television medical shows, where the action is based upon medical emergencies, but the real point of the show is the awful things that the staff of the hospital do to each other to interfere with their jobs.
For example, in House, Dr. House is just a big jerk, and nobody likes him, which causes lots of problems for his diagnoses. In the Good Doctor, the socially challenged but gifted main character constantly runs into issues communicating with everybody.
In ACHE Island, we want to reward that conflict in game play.
Our goal is simple. We want to participate in Zine Quest, and add out labor of love to the chorus of fun games. If we can gather sufficient funding, we'll improve the project with commissioned art.
Here's a sneak preview of our commissioned cover art:We hope that you find this interesting. $3 US gets you a pdf of the game if it meets its modest funding goal.
