The Two Barons (RP)

Just as Norbert stand up to head to bed, Albert speaks up. "Alright, I've had enough of this!" He would be shouting if not for the fact he's afraid to scare the children. Instead he just talks loudly.

"We need to know what's going on." He says, directing his voice at Christian and Olaf. "We were sent here to TALK to the baron. And instead, we end up in some vigilante attack on his house. Because, apparently, " At this point he looks at Theo "His father sent heroes to help the resistance. However, we had not heard of any attack plans. Not only did we get no valuable information from this course of action. It severely limits our chances to settle this peacefully. On top of that, now it turns out the resistance was attacking the wrong baron!?!?!?"

"So essentially, you've ticked off one baron by attacking him for no reason, and alerted the other that you were planning to attack them. Unless you're planning on reuniting the two barons by introducing a common enemy, this is about as bad as it could have gone."

"Now, can somebody, in Raynor's name, explain what is going on, and finally tell us who this girl is?"

Albert notices, at this point, that everyone is looking at him and that he has gotten up from his seat without realizing it. He sits down again, a bit ashamed of his outburst and adds. "Sorry, Olga." Unhappy with the way he raised his voice after her hospitality.
OOC:
Albert isn't trying to be aggressive, nor accuse anyone in particular, but he's fed up with the whole situation.

I hope I didn't misread any of the referenced events. If there are inconsistencies, let me know and I can change things here and there.

Roald stands up to give himself an extra moment to think before someone else starts to speak.
''I... I would like to add that: yes, we could have said something earlier, but we were not sure what kind of people you were. Friendly or hostile. We were afraid that If we spoke the truth, you might take us prisoner and put an end to our mission even before it started. That's why we rolled with your story. While we were trying to figure out what was going on, an all out attack started and we found ourselves in the middle of it. So please take this into consideration when you judge us on our behavior.
I understand if you want to throw us out, but we never meant any harm not to you, nor to the baron.''

Roald keeps standing for just a few seconds, making sure to look everyone in the eye so they might see he's not lying or making up excuses.

"Uhm,.. off to bed young ones. That also means you Chris junior." Norbert quickly looks at Olga and after a slide nod he starts collecting the kids. If it had not been for the tension around the table Norbert would have enjoyed his roll as 'big' brother.

"Let the grownups talk as grownups." Are the last words the people at the table hear him say as he ushers the last kid out of the room.

The family stare at Albert, surprised by his sudden, out of the blue, outburst. Both Olaf and Christian try to interrupt at several points where they disagree, but Olga's restraining hand and warning look still them until the kids are removed and the shouting starts.

"Vigi..what?!" Olaf demands before both he and his brother laugh out loud at the mention of the mayor. "Why would that money-grubby, blowhard pig help us?" Olaf asks incredulously. "He does not care about our troubles." He looks to Theo who is forced to nod in agreement that his father does not.

There are other, jumbled objections: "What do you mean you 'had not heard of attack plans'? They were your plans. We were following you. Who wants peace? Who cares about the other baron! Who cares about what they think!" And devolving into the realisation: "You all lied to us!"

"Get out of my house!" Olaf bellows, and Christian does not seem inclined to argue or offer his place as an alternative. But Olga puts her foot down at breaking the hospitality she has offered. "You can't put them out in this." She indicates the storm that has sprung up outside as though to mirror the turmoil inside. Olaf grudgingly agrees that you can stay in the barn, but that he wants you gone by morning.

As the kitchen door slams behind you you can still hear Christian's demanding from Olaf: "I thought you said they were with us?! Were you told that or were you guessing again?!" The storm drowns out Olaf's mumbled answer, and it would take some effort on your part to hear more.

Dylan, Theo, and especially Phil, look miserable in the storm, and Dylan points the way to the barn.

"I'm sorry guys." Albert looks downtrodden by the whole situation as he follows Dylan. "I could not keep up this theater any longer. I was hoping we would figure out what was going on during the attack. Unfortunately, none of our efforts seemed to help us." He decides to let everyone else take a good sleeping spot before choosing his own.

"All I wanted was some answers. But now we still know nothing more." He sighs heavily. "I don't know what to do." He sits down with his back against one of the barn's beams and mouths a prayer to Raynor.

Theo and Phil huddle together in a corner, shivering. It is not that cold, and you all are not that wet, but they appear unaccustomed to hardships of this nature. They don't complain and seem to be trying to follow the adventurers more stoic example.

"You thought my father was involved? With the resistance?" Theo asks incredulously. While you just admitted to lying to the resistance, and he knows he did exactly the same, there is a note in his voice that suggest he has just realised you were doing the same to him, and he does not much like being on the other side of that equation.

Daryl looks pretty miserable in his armour --which seems to have directed the water inside and then trapped it there-- but he also looks proud that he is withstanding the 'hardships of a campaign' so well --stories can warp a young man's brain. "Do we need to stand watch?" He asks. "In case those brothers try anything?" He sounds eager, though you can't tell if that for the prospect of 'standing guard', or the eagerness for some action if you are attacked, or a desire to learn more.

What do you do?

''Maybe their anger will have cooled down in the morning, I too would feel betrayed if things were the other way around. Let's sleep on it and see what the morrow brings. ''
Roald starts making a bedding out of hay and tries to get some sleep, but the events of the past day make it hard for him to stop his brain from reflecting on the day.
With his eyes open, staring at the ceiling, he listens to the sleeping sounds coming from the others.

"Well, they seemed to know about us being hired by your father, and then they said they were following our plan..." Albert replies to Theo in an apologetic way. "I figured that meant your father had set it all up. He didn't give us much to go on."

"I will keep watch for a while. Just in case." He says as he tries to get comfortable against a bale of hay. "I'm too rattled to sleep anyway."

"For what it's worth, Theo" He continues. "I'm sorry if I wronged you. Any of you for that matter."

Albert spends some time reflecting on the events of the day.
