I'm not. But I do want to ask, are you guys using custom sheets, or is the 5e sheet servicable?

5e sheet works fine for me.

I used the 5E sheet. Most stuff transfers over well enough, and the oddball stuff can go under Features or notes. At least, that's what I did.

And that's a no for me, regarding Discord.

Okay, one more question. I get an ability bonus of +1 to 3 abilities. So I just want to make sure I'm interpreting this correctly, I can go from a modifier spread of +2+2+1+1+0-1 to +3+3+2+1+0-1 Is that right?

That's my understanding, yes. That said, I'm not the official source. But it seems right, yeah.

In the prologue I incorrectly said Lash was wearing leather armor. He wears a cloak over robes.

Hey @Falconloft, don’t mean to rush anything but just wondering if the frequency of updates (IC or OOC) so far is what we should be expecting for the rest of campaign, or is this just because it’s the prologue and the campaign hasn’t properly begun?

I have been slow, but it's unintentional. Work got in my way. We had a bunch in and out wiuth COVID and I forgot to post about it in the rush. We'll be moving more now that it's clearling up.

Hey everyone, I’ll be dropping from the game because the very infrequent updates really isn’t for me. Constantly checking back to see no updates for a week in a game that’s supposed to be at 3 posts / week is just bothering me a bit after doing that for two months, and makes it tough to get back into the RP when an update does happen.

But I appreciate the effort @Falconloft, I know DMing is tough and takes a lot of time. And it’s been fun adventuring with all of you. Hopefully we’ll meet again in another game.

I need to apologize to everyone for not trying to push it faster, but I have had some RL job issues (extra work, etc.) and it feels hypocritical to ask for updates when I'm can't always guarantee updates. I'll try to do better.

No worries. I think most of us (or maybe it's just me?) don't have any issue sticking it out. Been doing PbP on and off for... a long time. Games get slow sometimes. Slow is still infinitely better than games that just stop out of nowhere.

Work has been kicking my ass a bit too, so I'd say just do your best and you're good. Try not to overstress about game though, or you can start to resent it and see it as a burden. We're all good.

Hey all. I wanted to let you know I've unfortunately fallen ill. I'm constantly nauseous and dizzy so I cannot concentrate on pbp at the moment. Prognosis is that this will last a while unfortunately.

@khulod you're fine! I've been sick myself twice since you dropped off, so I understand how it goes.

Rythorn is not particularly adept at searching so that action may not be the best fit for him. What about everyone else?

1. Apologies for being absent. Worked about 63 hours in five days, and had to work through my weekend. I'm about dead on my feet, but everything is back to normal as of tomorrow.

2. Verin has a +4 for Investigation checks. Kinda middle of the road, I feel.

We are still pending a decision as to next steps. I don't want to railroad things, but if you'd rather, I can just make one of the options suddenly require action.

With no one chiming in, I'm leaning towards the rescue mission (papers, person, whatever). But I was trying to not be the only person with an opinion.

Lack of a rogue could be a problem long-term. Getting past without getting hit COULD just be an acrobatics check though if anyone wants to try that. The valves are an option as well.

Or we could get a bunch of street urchins and promise a gold piece for the first one to make it to the other end.

There have been a few minor complications with the wife since the delivery. Nothing serious, but stuff we had to go to the doctor for, and her doctor is 45 minutes away, so it cuts into the day, and unfortunately, games are the least imperative for me at the moment, since I'm assuming you guys can all feed yourselves and don't need me to assist with diaper changes. How much wealth do I have? And it's gone when I spend it right?

You start with 1, and the gems you found will give you an extra 2, so you're all at 3 now, unless you've gotten any other adjustments.

BUYING
If the value of an item is lower than the character’s wealth, the character can make the purchase.
If the value is equal to the character’s wealth, the character can the purchase, but the item or service is so costly that doing so lowers their wealth score by 1.
If the value is greater than the character’s wealth, the character cannot afford the purchase.

SELLING
Selling an item with a value higher than your current wealth increases your wealth score by half the difference between the value and the character's wealth.

So with a wealth score of 3, Astrid could buy a studded leather armor that has a cost of 2, and she would still have a wealth score of 3, correct?

And what do the strength score and slots stats mean?

I assume the strength score is the strength required to properly wear the armor.

Remember, this system doesn't use base numbers lile 8, or 12, or 18 -- it just uses modifiers. So your strength isn't 15, it's a +2. (And so on.)

Not sure about slots though? If I were to guess, encumbrance tracking of a sort?

Correct.
For the Strength, the armor reduces the wearer’s speed by 10 feet unless the wearer has a Strength equal to or higher than the listed Strength.

Slots are related to carrying capacity and I hadn't really gotten into that since no one's been carrying much, but here's the rules. If we want to use them we can.

Lifting and Carrying
Your carrying capacity is a number of item slots equal to 10 + ST + HE. Bigger/heavier items take up more than one slot; lighter items might not take up any.
-- If you carry a number of item slots greater than your carrying capacity, you are encumbered: your speed drops by 10 feet.
-- If you carry twice your carrying capacity or more, you are heavily encumbered: your speed drops by 20 feet and you have disadvantage on ability checks/attacks/saves that use ST/AG/HE.

About a month ago I was crashing and was preparing myself for leaving GP all together.
I have since found that that would have been overkill and I am glad that I instead have come closer to a (for me) healthy balance. This includes setting a hard limit of 6 games.

This game was the one I regretted most leaving and I'm pleased that Falcon allowed me back in.

I'm back! And I am sorry!!

The past two weeks were an absolute cluster... I had double shifts with no cellphone signal, my "other mom" had multiple strokes and hospitalizations, pet euthenasia, almost had to shoot someone at 5am last Sunday, my mom's birthday, and a highschool graduation.

I'm hoping this week goes back to normal. I'm burned out on excitement.

I think (hope!) things are returning to my normal, boring, uneventful life. I liked waking up, going to work, then coming home and enjoying my evenings. It was simple. I'm looking forward to catching up with my games. I missed this.

Hey all. Sorry for my absence. My sickness has really put me down a notch unfortunately. Next week I am finally seeing the specialist who can hopefully give me an aid that will alleviate most of the symptoms. Please do not hold up anything for me. I hope to be back in action soon after.

I'm running into RL issues as well, so no worries. We'll be here.

Early this year RL took all my time and energy as well. I'm here to say that dialling down, and taking a few months with a max of 6 game did me good. I'm in a better place and can handle 9 games, but I'm still setting myself a max as I know that RL can throw a curveball and then you must be able to cope.

Yep, that's sort of where I am as well. I've got to find a place under what I feel comfortable so that when things hit the fan I"m still comfy.

How are things going for everyone? Are we thinking we'll be back to a place that we can move ahead soon, or should we wrap this up and call it a day?

I'm ready for a continuation or a reboot. In case of a reboot, I would make a different character using the TWW(5e) rules. More paladin like

That said, if general consensus is that we want a reboot, I'm up for that too.

Khulod has at least been on site within the past day. Joshua has been inactive for over a month.

Khulod is logged in, but he isn't active. Its more likely that he is logged in on a device that he is not using

So I think it's going to be a reboot. Do we want to keep it in Eberron? If so, do we keep it in Xen'drik or move elsewhere? If not, I'm thinking of revisiting an old setting I made ages ago.

Okay, so I've got two options, one of which is a bit out of pocket, but the system could handle it.

Terminus is the first one.

The second would be modern day, with magic. You'd be part of a group that's sent to investigate some strange reports in New England when you get caught up into things that are even more out of the ordinary than you expect. (This one borrows heavily from a not-very-popular video game, so if you recognize it, then best to skip this one.)

The Terminus setting looks fine. It feels like it is set in a 13th age setting, but other than that ;)
...and there are a few broken or unsecured links.

I love urban fantasy or modern day with magic. The only video game that springs to mind, that has an area in New England is "The Secret World". It has been years since I touched that game, so I nearly remember anything else that it had an area in New England

Both seem cool in very different ways.

It's a very old website. And it was a 13th Age game, first I ever ran, before I had a good grasp on the system, so it played more like standard d&d. Terminus would probably be the easiest to do though, since the other might take some tweaking of a system I've only run here. I'll ask a few people I've got on standby to see if they want in. THat way we're not 100% at the mercies of the tavern.
