Hi! I posted previously about what kind of game I am searching, and i was advised to introduce myself.

My native language is Russian, and i look forward to practice my English skills in game format. (Start from
illiterate Orc Barbarian and progress to fancy High Elf Wizard). My only play-by-post game concluded before party discovered main quest (GM abandoned us). So, I am looking forward to give play-by-post another shot.

I played IRL D&D 3.5, D&D 5, Vampire: the masquerade, Warhammer 40k Deathwatch and Dark Heresy.I looking forward to play D&D 5e, Savage World, Fate, Dungeon worlds, GUMSHOE. Also I am open to other suggestions.

I am looking for Beginner-frindly, casual game to learn tropes of play-by-post format. In games I like good story (even good rail road is fine), comradery of the players, exploring wast spaces of imaginary worlds. I think I am not very good at acting (describing details, talking in character). But I try to improve, and even plan to run one-shot campaign.

What kind of RPG systems are more suited for play-by-post games? What kind of games should I look after for good start?

And for some reason my "Looking for Game" list is not updating.
And I broke Private messages by deleting unread message. Eternal new message that I cannot read. :(

Welcome Mihey! I have only played a couple of systems (D&D5E, Star Wars FFG) but they both seem to work really well in this format even though they are very different. I think as long as you are looking for a game driven more by characters and story, and not so much by power play, you will be happy.

Hi Mihey, and welcome. I've found that mechanically, systems with rolls that go back and forth are problematic. Such as opposed rolls in D&D5e. It takes longer for the multiple parties to respond and make their rolls, and until they're all revealed the other players might not want to act. Vampire might need the same; plenty of opposed rolls there.

But other than mechanical difficulties like that (which could be solved by the GM rolling the opposed rolls for the player), I have found that the system isn't a big deal if you have the books, but can become onerous if it is an unusual system and you are relying on the DM's explanations.

Welcome Mihey! I'm glad you decided to give PbP another shot. Russian is actually a language I'm interested in learning some day, so maybe your joining up can help me along that path! If you don't mind me asking, how did you find GP?

Seems you have a pretty board range of games under you already, so I'm sure you'll find something you like. I think you'll find, by in large, a lot of games on GP end up building good comradery; the atmosphere the users have built up here leans to that.

I'll look into the LFG issue, though I fixed that up just a few weeks ago. Do you mind telling me what games you're selecting? Or do you object to me trying to log in as you to test?

I found about your site from modifier podcast (One shot). I was searching for pbp platforms and stumbled upon interview with, I expect, you - developer of this site. I decided to try.
For lfg a choose : Deadlands, Dresden files, fate core, Savage worlds , dnd 5.

Thanks. I'll check if there's something weird with that combination or if it's your account.
