I will be using Items from Ultramodern 5. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K1XDtGhah9S4aZzNSn_U3vNKVxWE3zQh/view?usp=sharing

TECH LEVEL 2
At this level, almost every form of technology has integrated electronics and advanced computer control.
Electrification is now commonplace, though computers
have yet to dominate civilization.
82
Vehicles: Ground vehicles now sport electronics;
some even have climate control and electronic stability.
Aircraft now have fly-by-wire, vectored thrust and vertical-take-off capacity.
Weapons: Computer tracking and targeting. Infra- red and thermal imaging is available, but not standard.
Firearms haven’t changed but have grown more complicated with advanced reloading and higher firing rates.
Advances in construction make them lighter with larger
calibers.
Medical: Computer diagnostic beds, MRIs, and X- Rays.
Similarity: Mid 20th century to the not too distant

Question about Medical kit listed. It seems like the pdf assume the item could only be used by a PC with a special class medic and is useless for our PCs, right?

Another question - could I also buy 5e equipment, such as simple dagger or javelin instead of "Fighting knife bayonet" which I don't even understand if it is even useful for a PC without firearms proficiency.

A lot of the items are there in case you guys want it at some point. The Medical Kit is pretty much like a Healer's Kit but updated and more modern. It has 50 uses compared to only 10.

You can buy what ever you want from either source. The Fight Knife Bayonet is something you can Equip onto a gun (I would need to read to see what effects it gives) making it so you have Gun with a knife on it.

We need to figure out how we want to do firearm Proficiency. I don't know everyone wants it or needs it. Everyone might be could have One Handed Gun and/or Two Handed Gun proficiency. I am not sure about The Heavy guns yet.

These are the Modern Guns from the DMG only problem is there is no cost for them.
The ones on Ultramodern have cost to them but are more complicated.

Taking the Cost and spec from Ultramodern and comparing them to DMG

Low-calibre Autoloader 250g 1d4 piercing 40/160 2 lb. Light, Reload (16 shots) vs Pistol, automatic 2d6 piercing3 lb. Ammunition (range 50/150), reload (15 shots)
The stats are about the same beside damage being higher. I am fine with having the pistol, automatic cost 250gp

Revolver 150gp 1d4 piercing 50/250 2 lb. Feed (6 shots), light vs Revolver 2d8 piercing 3 lb. Ammunition (range 40/120), reload (6 shots)
DMG Revolver has higher Dmg but smaller range. 150GP is good for me.

Bolt rifle 300 1d8 piercing 100/400 8 lb. Feed (5 shots) vs Rifle, hunting 2d10 piercing 8 lb. Ammunition (range 80/240), reload (5 shots), two-handed
DMG damage is high but range is lower. 300GP is ok for either.

Assault rifle 300 1d8 piercing 100/400 7 lb. Auto (1d10), reload (50 shots) vs Rifle, automatic - 2d8 piercing 8 lb. Ammunition (range 80/240), burst fire, reload (30 shots), two-handed
Both have Burst fire. DMG is lower range and Ammo but damage is higher. Price can be the same.
OOC:
Burst Fire A weapon that has the burst fire property can make a normal single-target attack, or it can spray a 10-foot-cube area within normal range with shots. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take the weapon's normal damage. This action uses ten pieces of ammunition.
Shotgun 300 1d10 piercing 30/120 10 lb. Feed (6 shots), shotgun, undermount vs Shotgun 2d8 piercing 7 lb. Ammunition (range 30/90), reload (2 shots), two-handed
DMG has higher damage, lower ranger and ammo. I like the added Shotgun feature from Ultramodern. Price can be the same.
OOC:
Shotgun
Shotguns impact with tremendous force at close range, but this stopping power diminishes rapidly further out. Shotguns do +3 damage if fired at targets within 10 feet. At long range, they inflict half damage. If you roll a critical hit, the target is knocked prone.
What is everyone's opinions on this? You can use which ever weapon you want. Just giving options.

Seems alright to me. I benefit from magic ranged attacks so don’t need a gun.

Well with starting 300$ I can't afford anything but Revolver and revolver just don't fit my PC, so it is all the same for me as well. Nevertheless should our enemies posses "Ultramodern Guns" I wouldn't mind some clarification:
If they shoot a revolver and hit me - do they do 1d4 +dex damage or they would add a bullet damage on top of that which would be anything ranging from 1d4 to 1d12 (and up) depending on bullet cost.
P.S. Just wondering - would it be possible to buy a traditional 5e longbow that cots 50 gp and has better range than a sniper rifle listed in the pdf? My PC class is barbarian so he has proficiency with martial weapons, don't he? And no I'm not buying it yet, just want to be clear on market situation just in case we need to take out something from a great range.

How the bullets are supposed to work is. If you have a gun that shoots 1d4 you have to purchase the 1d4 bullets for it. So the Revolver does 1d4 and can only handle the 1d4 bullets. The higher the damage the higher the cost of the bullets.
The revolver would just 1d4 + dex for damage yes.

You can get a Long bow and reflavor it if that is what you wish. Makes it easier. Your Barbarian does have proficiency with Martial weapons but Barbarians do better in melee with strength based. You get a +2 bonus to damage with Str based Melee attacks and can give yourself advantage on Melee attacks.

Btw what is feed(6 shots) vs reload(6 shots)?

I might use my 300 gold to get 2 revolvers/handguns.
I could say they are from WW2, part of the collection of the enchanted weapons my guy stole.

[quote="RoAries"]Btw what is feed(6 shots) vs reload(6 shots)?

They mean the same thing. After you take 6 shots you have to take an action to reload the weapon.
