PC: Logan (wild shifter)

Backstory:
Logan is about to finish high school and pick up his family business: mix of wild guide, forester and forest fire fighter. During off season they do some leather working and wickerwork. Logan isn't patient enough for wickerwork, but has a talent for making leather clothes and bags. They have been spending a lot of time in the forest with the father: handling animals, tracking and hunting, climbing hills.
During summer he works alone already. Logan has inherited lycanthropy from his father and his animal instincts helped to find a few missing forest hikers already, earning him a glory he need least: is working hard to hide his inherited lycanthropy from the society. It is harder to hide his inherited disease from friends, so he don't have really close ones. Only john and jasper who lives nearby are invited to his birthday parties. Everyone thinks he allergy of cats, dogs and other animals (because he don't want other to see how dogs react to him).

I am much like a dog: don't trust new people, but once I learn/accept someone, I treat them as of my pack (my family member).
Terrible sense of humor
Big hart and love for every living creature.
I do first, talk last. Thinking is for other people. I prefer action.

Father has been missing for a weel. First few days of an absence is just normal, given his occupation. But after a week or something I receive a letter signed by father that says something like "if you receive this letter the worst has happened, you may not see me any more. You are to keep our family secret, unfortunately you will need to finish your training all alone".
There should probably be a about what could have happened to the father that would hook me into meeting other party members.

How much did you know about your father's pass life? Before you were born? Do you know how the your family got lycanthropy?

Father was also born lycontrope just like Logan. Gradnfather got infested by laboratory wolf subject to genetic experiments (Logen only knows grandfather were found dead "in uncertain circumstances").
The inherited lycontropy did not manifest itself until puberty. When father discovered his illness he were seeking alternative medicine until found some old Indian shaman help him control it. Eventually he married shaman's daughter.
Logans' mother discovered that her sun has extraordinary connection to their ancestors. She did perform a few rituals asking ancestors for protection of her boy, but the result was unexpected. Ancestor spirits seems to enforce others to fight Logans when he enrage.

All range weapons use Dex for the main stat.
For a hunting rifle we have a few options. I am going to post in the Buying thread a few options.


Your background sounds great. Start building the character and I will figure out some stuff.

Disregard rifle. Let's assume Logan too young to have firearms permit of his own and father keeps his rifles in safe, Logan don't access to.

I would like to double check if and at what price I can buy 5e weapons: Dagger and Whip. I used formula a gp=$ to purchase 3 daggers and a whip, but I'm cool if this would cost more than 8 $, just let me know how much.

You sheet looks good from what I saw.
Are you newish to DnD? You are picking some strange weapons for a barbarian. You can use them perfectly find but they are really low damage only 1d4 vs other weapons being 1d8 or 1d6, 1d12 or 2d6. You can reflavor weapons as something else also if needed.

I plan on using your Father missing as a start off point to the campaign. I am assuming you lived out in the woods somewhere. What type/style of house do you have?

Yep, a private house made of logs in the woods. Not a fancy one, rather an old but well taken care of. Not too large, but decent for 3 person family. Beside they have a shed used as extra storage space and a workshop.Now for the weapons... Nevertheless I'm slowly transforming into role-player. And I just don't see reason for my PC, living in modernish times to purchase a greatsword. No matter of flavor - it will be a piercing weapon huge enough require two hands to handle it. A police seeing man with such an item would certainly ask him a question or two. Being lycontrope attention is the last thing my PC want in this world.

P.S. I hope that I will be able to purchase something like fire hook to work as Glaive or extra large sledgehammer to work as Maul. Once my PC will realize - they need to be killing creatures, perhaps even armed humans, not just search a man in the woods.
Until that a few knives and a whip are all he need.

What is the current situation with your Mother?

David and Mara. Mara stays home with the two dogs and a dozen chickens. She supports Logan's initiative to seek David on his own as she knows about lycontropy and believes it would be best if David is found Logan dead or alive.
Nevertheless, feel free to take your liberty and adjust anything as you wish. That is my expectation that a DM will influence and adjust my PC during character creation to better fit the environment and the story.
