When clicking on the link in the New Post email notifications, it scrolls the thread page to the newest unread post (which is great!). But the new header covers up that post.

Eg:

I clicked on the link in an email notification a few minutes ago, and this is what it looked like:

I do notice a bit of jump, though not that much... maybe my header idea won't work. Not sure how I can get it to jump up the required extra 70px... my webdev knowledge lacking here may suck...

I put together a quick fix; any better?

I'm not seeing any difference. (sorry for the delayed response, I didn't realize I wasn't subscribed to the thread).

I'm running Chrome v51.0.2704.106 on Windows 10 x64.

Hm... people in the Announcement thread are saying they see an improvement, save one person. You make two... do you mind trying in a private browser, see if it behaves the same?

I see no improvement in Chrome.
There is a marginal improvement in IE.
In Firefox, the header is not overlapping the post.

I'm getting mixed information about Chrome. Do you mind trying it in a private/incognito window? Just hit ctrl+shift+n and try GP from there.

My tests in the three browsers were all using Incognito Mode (or InPrivate Browsing or whatever it's called in the others)

Hm... Is the header shrinking for you?
Jul 12, 2016 6:33 pm
It expands a bit when I scroll to the top of the page and shrinks a bit when I scroll down, which is what I believe you're asking about.

Is this what you're talking about? Because this is what I get:

Yes. The post you're querying via the URL is being hidden by the header.

So it's cutting off for you too... but not for me and other people... maybe I have to get rid of the sticky header as it exists...

It really doesn't bother me, I simply scroll up. If I had to make a choice, I'd keep the header (way more convenient than going to the top every single time)
