The GP Advent Calendar - Door 8

Dec 8, 2022 6:20 pm
Hey there, lovely GP community!

Throughout the next 24 days, we, the mods, want to highlight some fun, exciting, cool or otherwise interesting GP posts, just to give you all a glimpse of what might be going on on the site outside of your own games and to share some gaming enthusiasm around.

Since we can only be in a small number of games, compared to all the many going on at the same time, there will definitely be some amazing posts that none of the mod team are aware of. If you saw a great post in a game you're in or you have written something that you're particularly proud of, please share it with me in a private message and we will put it under consideration for a future advent calendar door. Unfortunately, an advent calendar only has 24 doors so it's possible we won't be able to share everything that gets submitted to us if we get a lot of messages, but I'd still love to read as many posts you find fascinating as possible so don't be shy about submitting one or more posts you think would get other people excited 😊
Today's submission comes from Harrigan, running an as always cruel and unforgiving game, in this case, Delta Green.

A group of government agents were sent to investigate the home of a deceased former agent and while there, encountered a dangerous, body-hopping something. One of the agents as well as a local ranger pursued that being in its current body, a woman named Katrina, and managed to find themselves in a standoff not only with her but with an angry civilian with a gun. In order to deescalate, the agent, Jasper, agreed to allow the being into his mind, and when asked to think of something delicious and his thoughts land on his boyfriend back home, Jasper is about to find out why letting weird, alien beings into his head may not be the best idea...

The Trailer Park East of Hope

"John! Don't! Put it down, put it down! Don't be..."

Jane Gearing's voice, one that Jasper didn't find altogether unpleasant, evaporates into the night air as he thinks of Tom. As his mind turns in on itself, folding and unfolding. The memories are bliss, so clear and present it's like he's reliving them. Somewhere, he hears Katrina make a deeply satisfied sound, then... it all begins to unravel.

There's a rushing sound, in and out, like someone breathing in both his ears at the same time, and there are two naked bodies, writhing in pleasure. Jasper and... and...?"
John has his .357 pointed squarely at Gearing as he pulls back the hammer, ignoring the woman's shouted warnings. He doesn't notice his ex-wife right up against the man who arrived with the ranger, doesn't see the memories being pulled out of the man and devoured by the voracious fiend he was just having sex with. Doesn't see how wide her mouth is as she hungrily places it against the side of Batson's head.

When the hammer clicks into position, Jane hears it -- and draws. She doesn't see Katrina either -- she only sees the muzzle of the canon pointing at her.
Tears well in Jasper's eyes as part of him is pulled from his psyche. As his most intimate memories are dredged up, dismembered, mangled, and then tossed back into the turbulent wash of his ravaged consciousness. Soon it's not just the sex. Tom is erased from his mind. His face, his actions, his entire being. He's just... gone. Consumed by something ravenous from the stars.

Blood trickles from Jasper's ears, but the man is only shaken from his trance by the sound of a single gunshot resounding through the trailer park.

I like the use of the colors to represent the fading voice, that's cool
