I have used the link you gave. I think Valeria will be an alchemist, healer type. Less combat focused more, helping and offering counsel.
She is a Zagrian priest of Mitra, summoned to fight. A fierce woman with eyes of fire in passion and zeal against wrong doing but capable of a soft touch when the right word is needed.

My character, named Ronzu, is a hunter/tracker from a tribe in Hyrkania. While out on a multi day hunting trip with other members of his tribe, his village was raided. Many of his people were killed or captured. He has departed his village to try and determine who was behind the raid and hopefully free his captured tribesman. His journey so far, based mostly on rumors unfortunately, has brought him to Argo.
As an actor reference, I think of Robin Shou (Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat movies). Not a large bulky barbarian, but wirey and athletic, with a serious but good nature.

I've got my character complete using the website above, but the save to PDF option doesnt seem to work on my kindle. I'll get the sheet finished next time I'm on my PC.

My character, Tydeus, is a Corinthian soldier who is tired of protecting and maintaining the Road of Kings. His great grandfather on his mother's side was from Argos. Tydeus heard tales of Argossian privateers acquiring fantastic treasure and is in Argos to seek his fortune. I will build the character using the website later this evening.
P.S. I did a practice run with the character builder earlier today and couldn't save the PDF either.

I should have my character completed by today or tomorrow at the latest.
As far as why my character is at the start of the campaign...he's the youngest son and knows he has no shot at achieving greatness while under his family's shadow. So he left and sought out the life of a wandering mercenary. He's hired out as a guard for both caravan and ship.

Still working on the PC's one paragraph backstory, but the character sheet is mostly finished. I'm using a modified version of the template posted earlier: Tydeus character sheet
I may want to change my main weapon selection from saber if a different weapon fits the concept better.
My character avatar isn't saving on the document. I need to experiment with other pictures to see if I saved the AI generated image incorrectly.

As for the setting, I didn't know much so I'm getting up to speed, I figured there are some links to Call of Cthulhu and Lovecraft (apparently the author took inspiration from Lovecraft)

If I recall correctly, R.E.H and Lovecraft were pen pals and wrote back and forth often. So there's some of Cthulhu in Conan's dark corners, and some of Conan in Lovecraft's various writings too... In the extras for the 2001 version of Conan the Barbarian with Jason Momoa there is a fantastic extra clip that goes into the history of Howard, and the whole Conan thing. Worth a watch if can find it. :)

Overall, the Conan Quickstart is a good read to get a feel for the game too.
In terms of build, what kind of a pirate would you see him as? Blackbeard, Captain Blood, or the Sea Hawk? Or another I'm not thinking of? :)

Hi all. Thanks for the invite, I read over the other posts so I want to rethink some of my character choices a bit. I still like the idea of making an alchemist or a sorceress, but it seems I was too late and I don't want to step on any ones toes. I could just make one any way and let the RP be the real differentiating factor. Of course, if I'm missing something that would be great for the party/campaign I am open to suggestions.
Also: I have done PBP on discord before but a forum RP is new for me, so sorry if I make a faux pas.

I don't have a pirate model so to say. I was thinking he was just part of a crew and ended tired of receiving scraps from their plunder.
So he left to get better bigger part of treasure.
Still have a few things to figure out regarding the character generator but I should be able to get something soon.

I've found folks here a very friendly bunch, so faux pas are easy to forgive. :)

Having no better place to be he continued his act of piracy waiting for an occasion. That chance came as a map he found during a raid. It showed the way to a lost and forgotten citadel. Keeping that discovery he left the crew in hope to find riches elsewhere.

@rvhhh - I was playing around on Midjourney (AI Art), and this is what it gave me when I described Yunet as this:

Yeah, pretty good overall. Definitely not a front liner, but this looks very close to how I pictured Yunet. It kind of makes me wish they had a movie with Zoe Kravitz as a similar character.

MAKING AN ATTACK

There are three different methods of attacking a target: Melee, Ranged, and Threaten. Making an attack using Sorcery is addressed in Chapter Seven: Sorcery. Regardless of the method used, the process for attacking remains the same.
■■ The attacker chooses a type of attack to make and nominates a single target within range.
■■ If the target is aware of the attack, the target may declare a Defend Reaction.
■■ The attacker attempts a skill test determined by the type of attack. This is an Average (D1) skill test, unless the target has declared a Defend Reaction. In this case, the skill test is a Struggle; the target’s skill is determined by the type of attack. If the attacker wins the Struggle, then the target is hit. If the target wins the Struggle, the attack misses.
■■ If the attack hits, then the attack inflicts damage as described in Damage and Recovery. If the attack misses, then nothing happens.The specific details for each type of attack are described below:
■■ A Melee attack is made using a melee weapon and the Melee skill, directed at a single enemy within Reach. It inflicts physical damage, and the target’s Defend Reaction uses the Parry skill. Melee attacks also compare the Reach of different weapons, as noted on page 123.

Damage is tricky. It uses a combat die (d6, see § below), that resolves as:
1: 1 damage
2: 2 damage
3,4: no damage
5,6: 1 damage plus Effect
You will often roll multiple damage, then total the results.
Damage is resolved in fundamentally the same way, regardless of the type of damage inflicted. Each weapon and technique determines damage based on several factors:
■■Damage Rating: Each source of damage has its own damage rating. This is normally defined as a number of §. For example, a sword has a damage rating of 4§, so four § are rolled and added together.
■■Bonus Damage: A character may inflict bonus damage if possessing above-average attributes. A character with a high Brawn will inflict additional damage on Melee attacks, and a character with a high Awareness will inflict additional damage on Ranged attacks. A character with a high Personality will inflict additional damage on Threaten attacks. See the Bonus Damage table, following.
■■Momentum: A player can spend Momentum when making an attack to add more damage to that attack. Each Momentum spent adds 1 to the damage (Repeatable).
■■Actions: The Exploit action has a Momentum spend (Repeatable) to add bonus d20s to the skill test and bonus § to the damage of the attack that follows it.
■■Resources: Ranged weapons can often spend Reloads. Combat Dice roll ([CD]): include [CD] in the reason, and roll the appropriate # of d6. "💥" will be a point of damage and ✅ will be an effect.

My internet provider has been having issues with the network in our entire neighborhood over the past few months, with days where the internet going in and out all day long. They finally decided to upgrade some system pieces, but they took way long, and too many days to get it done. This is the first day I've been able to login reliably for over a week.
