Not getting any emails + Character portraits

I've put my preferences to receive PM and new game emails, but haven't received any. I've got games on my LfG list, and my email address is right.

Another thing is the avatars I upload for my PCs don't seem to be showing up in the forums? I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm just doing something wrong, but I've made sure they're over 150x150 pixels.

Apologies if these aren't bugs and I'm just doing something wrong!

Just to ask the obvious re: avatars.
- These PCs have been submitted to the game (and accepted by the GM)?
- You're posting as the character (drop down box above the message box)?

As to the emails, this is something I'm really struggling with, and short of a webdev who can help me, I don't know if I have any ideas. A not-small number of people have reported getting some emails but not others, even though from my side, the system shows having sent all of them. Some people don't get the registration mail, then get every other. Some don't get new game emails but get forum subscription emails. I'm kinda at a loss :( I'll keep working on it, but I'm not sure what to do next.

I'd advise setting up an SPF record to ensure better deliverability (your "From" email address domain doesn't match the actual SMTP server domain you're sending through and this can cause some messages to be marked as spam)
As another option - you can try use some external SMTP provider like SendGrid - you can use it for free if sending less than 12k messages per month.

No idea what a SPF record is, so time to learn! I've been considering moving to a dedicated mail client, but it can get expensive. Do you know if something like SendGrid will let me send emails from my code?

They provide a SMTP access to accounts that went through their verification system.

SPF record is a DNS entry that tells 'Internet" that domainA is authorized to send email with @domainB addresses as sender.

Hope you find an email solution Keleth! I don't think I personally miss much by not getting the emails, because I'm in the habit of checking the site and forums pretty frequently anyway, but just thought I'd post in case other folk were experiencing the same.

I'm in the same quandry. I do not receive any emails at all. Even though I have subscriptions and games on the LFG list. As well as not getting the invites. I just frequently check here all the time.

Something with invites is still broken, but I can't figure it out. I'm hoping someone who's having the invite issue will oblige me to do some technical stuff to help me figure out what's up.

I didn't get to try the SPF record thanks to GenCon, but It's on my immediate to-do list now.
