S1E1, Subplot A, Erik

It was pouring outside as Erik made his way to his vehicle. The weather report had said that it would be clear skies all day, but the weather report was hardly ever correct when it came to the island. Still, it was likely to let up like it always did, and with the fourth of July coming up, Erik had time off to himself and his family.

Erik's cellular phone rang. It played the ringtone he had assigned to his best friend Paul. It wasn't a time Paul would normally call, so he probably wasn't calling out of his desire just to chat.

Hail began pelting his car as Paul answered.

"Erik! You've gotta come to the tavern! There's some sort of conference or convention or something in town; these people have got the wildest outfits! I haven't seen anything like it in quite some time,"

The phone when quiet for a moment and some scuffing could be heard. When Erik next heard Paul talk, he had clear moved his hand over his mouth so his voice would be muffled to anyone trying to listen in to the conversation.

"Erik, can you get over here? These people thought this was an actual bar, and I think they're going to trash the place! I'd call the police, but they haven't actually done anything yet. I've just got this feeling man,"
