Kids on Brooms (KoB) is a spin-off from Kids on Bikes. KoB is a game that focusses more on the story than tactical combat.
KoB lets you channel your inner witch or wizard and immerse yourself in a world of magic, mystery, and adventure.

Together we shall create the world/school and then adventure in it.

In the Kids on... games, the players take a bigger part in the world creation and story telling than in traditional games like D&D where the DM is all knowing and all powerful.

I'd love to play / GM a game of

Kids on Bikes (think Stranger Things)
Kids on Brooms (think Harry Potter)
Teens in Space (think Lost in Space)

These games are great, easy to learn, collab storytelling TTRPGs which also have a great element of building a town/school/spaceship together.

Would anyone be interested in a game?

I have GMed Brooms and Bikes before.
But still learning stuff here on GP.

I'm up for Kids on Brooms

I've also been wanting to try Kids on Brooms for a while now!

Seems like Kids on Brooms is being popular then.
I shall set something up on Saturday.

I definitely love those kinds of games and would be interested. Brooms would be my bottom choice out of the three but I might still be up for it. I probably shouldn't join another game right now, though

I'd love to try, if ya have space for another

I have just invited

runekyndig, gnomius, crazybirdman and Theanah

@bowlofspinach I am not entirely sure if you'd want to join or if you consider yourself full on games right now.
If you want to join, I shall invite you.

Else I have room for one more.

I think I'll pass this time. But thank you

Still have room for more!

We are still in the worldbuilding phase although we shall use Harry Potter's Wizarding World as a basis.

I might be interested in trying this.

Though with it being Private, I can not say for sure. I don't have the rules (I bought Kids on Bikes because of all the hype, and was a bit ... underwhelmed) but took a look at the Brooms book at a friend's house and think it may have some potential.

If you will have me, and if I don't need the book to get going, maybe I can take a look at the world so far?

I ran a Kids on Brooms game a few months ago. The biggest piece of feedback I got was that the d20 really throws everything out of whack. The jump from a d12 to d20 is massive, and the skill gap from a d4 to d20 made players feel that it was impossible to succeed at some checks. I would recommend dropping the d20 to a d14 or even a d16. Just my 2 cents!

I, too, looked a bit askance at that D20 with the double sized jump between it and the rest, and worried about that aspect. It might depend on the GM not setting tasks that require that D20 to succeed, but then there is problem of it making things too trivial? I don't know how much that large step up for the D20 is intentional and significant.

The bonuses don't make as much difference on a D20, but I don't know how many can be stacked to get the lower dice to a position of competing.

A D16 (easy enough to use when we don't have to struggle find real ones:) seems like a good fit. That way each step is 4 above the one below it.

Whoops. I thought the dice were 4, 8, 12, 20, but looking at Kids on Bikes I see they are in steps of 2. I still think a D16 might be better than a D14, as that makes that high stat stand out a bit more?

Just compromise

Rolls

Roll - (1D15)

(13) = 13

Lots of response, I still have some room and shall send some invites.

We are basically still building the world.
Things we have sort of established by now is that we are stealing the Harry Potter world but are in a school that is travelling through colonial USA.

True, it is a big jump. I have GMed and played Kids on Bikes before and played Brooms. But I like it to be really good at one thing.

If there are too many people, I can happily cede my place to The_Librarian. My interest was tentative, though, I admit having The_Librarian in the game increases my desire to be in it too, so a bit of a catch22? :)
