So for spells, you can either order them in a list that you like, or just roll straight down the alphabet. You should be rolling a d100 for each spell, and then back down the list again if you didn't get your minimum. The second time around you only go for the min.

Gotcha! I just rolled straight down the list and hit over the minimum first time. Those results, I believe, mean I understand the following Lvl. 1 spells and have them in my spellbook then:

Charm Person
Detect Magic
Hold Portal
Light
Magic Missile
Read Languages
Read Magic
Shield
Sleep
