Cyberpunk Red

Hey, new to the site but I'm having a hard time getting my feet underneath me. I am offering to run a cyberpunk game but I make no promises about my GMing abilities.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

You don't know this guy but you can assume he's a fixer and he has a job for you, likely something risky that bound to get troublesome but you know that's the kind of drit that gets you paid good.

Post up a character concept/name/role/basic backstory

Lots of cyberpunk fans here. I'm not familiar with Cyberpunk Red (yet) but I'm sure you'll have no problem filling your game with eager players.

For advice, I'd suggest, come up with a brief pitch for the game, imagine how it starts and how it might end, and aim for a one-shot to start. If you and your players work out, you can always extend.

Alright, a little piece of inspiration for a game, most likely a one-shot but there it is. In the first post.

I actually have an idea for a Medtech (with some combat skills) I'll throw out . :) Love to get to actually try some CP Red.

On a side note, are you allowing anything from the Black Chrome or Interface supplements?

Oh, finally! I would love to dust out Friendly Mr Choom, a Corpo private investigator hauling from a rich Algerian family! It has been a while since I was actually able to play some proper Cyberpunk. He is a gentleman, a private hound that specializes in finding people who disappeared or where kindapped.

I have plent of other characters, but it seems the other players already had their sight on them! I know the system well enough, where do I sign?

I just have the cyberpunk Red so I can't approve anything from Black Chrome or Interface supplements.

I have room for one more game if you'll take a fifth. I usually play netrunner or solo depending on wether or not the GM intends to utilize hacking.

*Any chance of using the "Running out of Cash" rule on page 118 of the core rulebook to start with some truly chromed out runners in exchange for an evil overlord? We could be black-ops hitters or corpo puppets trying to get out from under the "man's" thumb...

If the dm allows it could be a nice idea! (I'd need to change pitch and run someone evil though)

I'll allow the "Running out of Cash" rule. It's something I would have loved in my game that I was in and I regret not asking the GM about it as I was running a chromed-out solo brawler type. You don't have to be an evil character for it, just a victim of circumstance.

So what's your intended use of hacking Heathen? Is a Netrunner even needed in your game? I know some GMs don't like to bother cuz of the slow down and just use the Electronic/Security Tech skill to resolve all equivalent "hacking" tasks.

Then I think I'll scrap my gentleman investigator for someone far worse and evil.

It really just means we are in debt to a big organization like the mob, military, or a corp. We COULD be ruthless corporate killers, but that's not really the intention.

Got space for another, been itching to run for a while now!

With this much interest, pull me out of the crew. I'm in a lot of games, so you're better served taking those who are in fewer games.

For sure, and I usually play Netrunners in CPR so I've got it locked and loaded but netrunning does tend to slow down PbP pretty significantly depending on how often the GM and player post so I wanna confirm the intended game use before I get to deep into my build. I have played games where we just used the elec/sec tech skill for hacks to speed up posting instead of having a separate matrix thread...

Yeah I would say it definitely improves the game to make it a skill roll than it's own universe. Unless everyone is jacked in.

Agreed, although it's a lot of fun to play the whole matrix game as long as player and GM are able to post fast and furious during hacks.

I plan on spending most of my money on inhalers full of healing power. And playing through just like I play Cyberpunk 2077. That is to say armed with a Katana and an electric submachinegun inflicting maximum havoc with no regard for collateral damage.

My weapon accuracy will be 100%, I always hit what I'm shooting at. The walls, the ceilings, my teammates...

In short a corporate asset called a Solo.

I have a plan in mind for a Cyberpunk campaign, if the GM gets cold feet, but I'd rather be a player before I GM again XD
