Just checking interest in a ruleslite RPG. I want to tell you a story. I don't want to think to heavily in terms of mechanics.

Thematically I see this as something alike Dark Souls. Where you the protagonist are fighting against overwhelmingly powerful odds and expected to use the environment to overcome or die. And much like Dark Souls, using death as a mechanic to improve yourself rather than ending your journey.

I'm thinking a three Stat system. Representing your Physique, Guile, and Mind. There may be magic mechanics, but only if you earn them. Magic in my worlds almost always comes from occult traditions such as cannibalism and human sacrifice.

For dice resolution I like the idea of combining two dice against the enemies two dice and the winner is whoever rolls higher. Though I may handwave the need for a roll in the event of circumstances such as leap attacking an unwary enemy or trapping a wyvern/drake against the ledge of a chasm. Or tripping a giant and hitting it where it is weak. Stuff like that.

As far as the narrative, I will have a few NPCs which you may interact with. But I wouldn't expect a verbose performance of many actors, you're in a dying world these people are too busy surviving to spare much thought to talking to you. Instead I'll build the Lore based on items you acquire and the horrific monstrosities you encounter, and the subtle quests that the NPCs you may encounter or kill will have for you.

Since I only have the end in mind we will be building this world together. My mind will create the theater your actions will shape it. But be wary that Hell devours the indolent, and make no mistake player in my games you are in Hell. I don't expect much interest so I'm willing to run this solo - as is the proper way.

Setting your expectations now that I will be trying to kill your player to advance the narrative and that dying should not be feared your death serves a higher purpose. Are you prepared to die for duty?

So just to make sure, this is a joint story telling with little mechanics and not a new system for me to learn right?

I would be interested if you end up doing it.

I'll put some thoughts in order then and get to work setting up the first chapter.
