Is this based in dnd 5e? I thought it was tiny dice. If I follow the character creation link it takes me to the Shattered Lands forum instead of Tiny SL

I've uploaded a character sheet, here are the details.

Name: Seren
Changeling - preferred form, fox mammalfolk, ragged robes with mask of wood
Traits: Necromancy, Divination
Weapons: Small
Trinket: a 3" wooden statue of a woman that is always humming softly
Trade: Hermit
Belief: The currents of fate are fickle, but can be a good friend to one who is willing to follow

While many changelings find comfort in cities where they can assume many identities without worry, Seren found more peace in the deepest shadows of the forests where sprites and spirits make their homes. Seren has spent many years alone tending her "grove" where she has buried small carcasses from the surrounding woods under a large tree to see what will grow. But recently, she felt a shifting in the winds. Her time in the Grove has come to an end, something marvelous awaits her on the trail.

Looks good. Congratulations on being the first Spirit folk of my game! :)

Traits usually have a simple 1 or 2 sentence description. As both yours are magical they may need a bit more detail.
+ Any input on how you want Divination to work? My basic assumption is you can glean information but do better when given time.
+ Ditto on Necromancy? Basic idea I have is to animate and control undead. You will be limited on the number of undead you can control at once.
+ What weapon do you have? dagger, club, ax...

I like your options for Necromancy, that is kind of what I was thinking. One note I made in the character sheet is that Seren carries a bag of small animal bones, so an additional option that I was thinking would be a skeletal familiar of sorts.
As for Divination, I think it's subtle magic. I think Seren has spent so long alone that she has a relationship with the currents of fate, maybe they give her indications of (mis)fortune. But if she takes time to test them, using things like knuckle bones, tea leaves, entrails, card reading, etc... she can get a better understanding of how things turn out. Similar to the augur spell from 5e where the caster gains a positive or negative feeling about a certain course of action.

It's inspired loosely by Divination wizards from 5e so mechanically she may gain advantage in certain circumstances. Maybe fate acts as a distant patron giving indications on its own whims. Just ideas.

Please keep game play light on horror and gore. I am OK with sinister and creepy, if that is what you are going for, but but graphic, gory, and unneeded details should be omittedt. They are not needed for the game itself.

I am interested th see how you play this. Necromancy had the normal signs in my setting of not being socially acceptable.

If you want a persistent undead companion then that is an option for an additional trait add your character develops

Great thanks! I'll be sure to keep the horror and gore to a minimum. That's not really my vibe either. I'm also excited to see how this develops during play time.

You will be starting on the Wagon Train
Seren will be working with Raggy to help protect the wagon train from monsters and bandits as it travels to the expedition base camp

I see we are starting the wagon trail together and was reading about your character. We are so different, but it's very funny how much my skills compliment yours. I'm a wolf beastfolk and your preferred form is a foxfolk. My trade is small game hunter and my belief is to use all parts of a kill. And my minor magical item is a bone knife that perfectly removes bone and flesh. I can give you an almost endless supply of bones.

For Seren's new trait I want it to stem from something she learned over the last bit with the caravan. I'm thinking either something to do with simple mechanics (from getting the wagon out of the tree) or related to herbalism (mostly from cooking and foraging and brewing different remedies).

Herbalist : Provided the right reagents and recipes, you can mix potions, elixirs, and poisons. You gain Advantage when identifying plants and their properties.

basic herbal recipes : Pick 2 or create your own
Healing Balm : heals 1 health + 1/1d6 minutes
Sleeping Draught : target must save or sleep 1d6 hours
Noxious Powder/Smoke : creatures must save or loose 1 action each round due to coughing/sneezing
Antitoxin : save vs poison with advantage for 10 minutes

Soothing Tea: Calms nerves, soothes aches and pains, and can keep the imbiber comfortably warm even in wintery conditions.

I like it. I am ok with you concocting basic things like that with some supplies or preparation without a specific recipe. The recipes are for stronger effects that have a system mechanical benefit.

You don't need to define then all now but think of at least one kind of herbal recipe that has a advice basic effect. Heal, sleep, intoxicate, poison, paralysis, etc.
