You can either Master your short sword or become proficient with Ranged

No worries. I usually check weekends but wont move stories to the next scene so you would only miss others action and the reactions but should still be able to put in your bit Mondays

I'm here, peeking in on things.

So lets add a proficiency with ranged. He have access to a ranged weapon? The proficiency is kind of useless without a weapon to use. Maybe there's one in the caravan? Maybe they will part with it in exchange for the extra efforts?

Sure you can get a sling, throwing darts or knives, or a short bow

short bow... Do we need to keep track of ammunition, how many arrows we have, and how many recover after a fight?
Jun 4, 2023 6:36 pm
no ammo tracking for this system unless it is a special case

OOC:
So, this base? Is it owned or managed by a particular govt of private entiry?

This job? Are we independent contractors, mercenaries... Or are part of some organization?

is the job technically over now, that the escort is done? Free to move to another job?

Payment?

@DaChiefPI I seen you trying to figure bold. That in one of the easier one to learn, but the concept follows through the others too. There is three ways I know to bold things and the last one was the biggest help for me because I was always forgetting til after I typed it all out.
1. Click the B above the box and [b][/b ] will appear minus the random space I put to show you the formula. This allows you to type between the brackets and everything is bold.
2. You can also type it out manually before and after the the words in bold. Make sure both bs are lowercase.
3. If you highlight the words you want in bold and then click the B above the box it will put the formula around that whole section.
The last one was a life saver for me. Also like I said these apply to all the other formats too.

On any of the formatting (including bold and OOC), my preferred way is to put the cursor where you want it in the text box, then click the B (or OOC or whatever) button. That will put the bracketed controls around the cursor. You can then just type within the region. This is really handy on mobile devices where putting the cursor outside the brackets is easy, but getting it between them is NOT.

Thanks. Seems pretty straightforward.

OOC:
Okay. How about this. it starts small and builds. Assuming a turn is 6 seconds in this system. Then it builds up 6 seconds per day, plus there is a 1d6 add on. so the longer it doesn't get used, it builds up.

Day one, 6 seconds
Day two 6+1d6
Day three 6+2d6
with a max of 60.... Any roll over that is just 60.

You might also consoder it going longer, but outside of combat. Once a fight begins, the stress is so high, that it's limited to 60 seconds.
@Pysbermagi Did we ever decide how this is going to work? Are we going back to your original a, and b options?

I put the current revision on your character sheet. It has a bit of flexibility with up to 3d6 and a minimum effect with a bonus if your pass the check. You can choose how many dice to roll.

I am trying to keep it simple, useful, and fun. Let's see good that works.

Okay, so the original option was to pre-roll all three at the beginning of the day, and to use them as replacements...

But instead I can add them onto a roll, so for instance if I roll 2d6 and it's not great, I can elect to add a d6 out of the pool of three?

Dm says:
A Each day roll 3d6 and record the results. These rolls can replace any other roll throughout the day.
B Once per day you can rewind time one minute and you and your allies retain all knowledge of this event.
DaChiefPI says:
Wow, option B sounds crazy fun. A redo, could be invaluable... If for no other reason, than I've never seen it before, let's take Option B.
Vlax can rewind time for a do over. This let's you change and reroll your last round and if your get a success on the test you can let the others in the party do the same. Remember the elementary in the storm, almost dying and deciding not to go that way.

I reduced it from a minute to a round, for now as it need some play testing
