The hunters are concerned by two text messages from Spencer, one of their own group, who has gone to Greenville to investigate reports of new sightings of the "Greenville Frogman", a monster that hasn't been spotted in decades. But days later, Spencer can't be reached, so the group hops into Sydney's repair van and heads to Greenville to follow Spencer's trail, find out what happened to Spencer, and if the reports of the Greenville Frogman have any merit.
Arriving at Motel 6 at the edge of town, they discover Spencer's classic Mustang in the parking lot. Still unable to reach Spencer by phone, they break into his room and find his belongings still there, although his phone is not. They check into the motel and then head down the road to Mama's Diner where they question the waitresses if they've seen Spencer and enjoy some tangy meatloaf. While their waitress, Myrtle, hasn't seen Spencer, another waitress, Dottie, recognizes his picture and tells the hunters that Spencer had gone to speak with Uncle Ray, who had claimed to have seen the Greenville Frogman long ago and was a conspiracy nut and alcoholic.
After finishing dinner, the group heads next door to Kickin' It, the local watering hole, where Ray is likely to be found. As is apparently usual, Ray is drinking at the end of the bar, and the group sends Crystal to question him. He is happy to tell what he knows along with a decent helping of conspiracy theories surrounding recent events. Ray says that a number of people have gone missing including a woman named Sue who lives at his trailer park. He tells Crystal that a number of people have also recently seen the Greenville Frogman. In addition, he mentions a recent news article in the local paper written by local reporter Randy Washerman. The hunters are able to read the article online. It talks about a few recent disappearances and mentions speculation that the disappearances started after a meteor shower, but that many blame the Greenville Frogman. Randy cites mass hysteria as a possible cause for the recent monster citings.
When they leave the bar they notice a fog has begun rolling in that has a strange green tinge. The team then gathers their gear from the motel and heads to the trailer park to search for clues. They find Sue Parker's trailer and attempt to break in, but are spotted by one of the park's residents who calls out from down the street. Just then a huge shadowy form comes from behind the resident, swallows her whole, and leaps away into the ever-thickening green mist....
