Post Frequency:
* I asked for 5/week with the assumption that it is 1 post per weekday. I understand that some may have weekend obligations (myself included) and while it's awesome if people post more frequently or on the weekends, I will be patient with any that cannot meet this expectation.
* My patience is not infinite. It is not fair to others if we have to wait for someone to respond, so I will establish the rule that if there is any unexplained absence for 48 hours (2 days) during the work week (Monday through Friday) I will temporarily take over the character so that things can move along. Prolonged absences will result in phasing out the character and opening the slot for someone else. NOTE: This is primarily during moments where your participation is needed, such as combat. RP situations are less stringent as it can be inferred that you're just hanging out in the background.
* Speaking of absences, please do try and extend common courtesy to let us know if you will be away for any period of time, especially if it's during the work week (Monday through Friday). You may PM me or post in the OOC thread, and while I may still act on your character's behalf, I won't start thinking about dropping your character.
Leveling Up and Hit Points:
* If your characters gain a level, it may be applied immediately (no long rest needed). Also, you may take the maximum HP increase plus your Constitution modifier; there is no need to roll.
* I use milestone advancement, meaning that I don't allot experience points for each and every encounter, but rather once you reach certain parts of the story. I do note what the XP would be for your battles or for solving problems, so if you happen to attain a higher level before the milestone, I'll apply it.
Combat:
* I plan to use side-based initiative, using an average roll for each group to determine which side goes first. This allows everyone a chance to get their actions in without having to wait for someone else.
* When you roll to attack, include the damage roll. If your attack misses we will just ignore it, but if it hits the results can be described in a follow-up post rather than having to wait.
General Etiquette:
* Be good to one another. This game is meant to be enjoyed by all, and I hope that certain rules of behavior can go unspoken.
* I prefer this game to be rated PG or PG-13. I don't mind the occasional curse and I understand that D&D combat can become a bloodbath, but sexual violence or violence against children will not be tolerated.
