Siobhan "Styx" O'Rourke

It’s been a long time since I went home, if by that you mean the drek-hole where my parents live. The shadows are my real home, now, the one place where I can take off all of my masks. Sometimes its tiring being someone, and I just want to be no one. Maybe I’m more like my parents than I want to admit…they’re both wage slaves, working for EVO. It’s easy to be no one in a place like that; I think they encourage it.

Now my brother, he wants to be someone. He’s a lieutenant for the Ancients these days. Working hard to make a name for himself, is our Sean. He’s all full of piss and vinegar, but we both know we have each other’s back when it comes down to it. We may not be on the same path, but we both agree on one thing: we don’t want to spend our lives earning money for some corp.

I don’t have just one life, though, now do I? There’s the life I left behind, there’s my day job, and then there’s the shadows. My day job isn’t even a day job; I lay beats for whatever band needs ‘em. Sometimes I use a synth, but I prefer the old-fashioned way: with my sticks and a good kit. That’s where I got my nickname, "Sticks". A helluva lot easier to pronounce than Siobhan, for most people. And of course that’s where "Styx" came from, the dark river than runs through the land of the Shadows.

Now my girlfriend, Maeve, she gets both sides of me, though she doesn’t know everything. Certainly not about the work Styx does for her dad, Seamus O’Malley. Yeah, of those O’Malleys. But she knows the dark and the light. Siobhan is friendly and outgoing, Styx hides a pistol behind that smile. Which one is me? Well, both, obviously. No one is just one thing, haven’t you figured that out yet? Especially me.

I have a thousand faces for a thousand places and no one can remember me. Social debutante, slummer, corp exec, ganger, bartender, groupie; I can be any of them for a time, and a price. And if you want that groupie to help someone disappear, she can do that too, for a price. The gentle way, or the not-so-gentle way, depending on how you feel about the mark. So, chummer, what’ll it be? What face do you need today?

Siobhan is average height and build, with brown hair and eyes, unremarkable in almost every way. Her elven nature is obvious when her ears are uncovered and from the way she moves, but otherwise she just seems like a slightly pretty human. Her clothes vary greatly depending on what she is dong; she's an expert at blending in wherever she goes.

Contacts:

Ancients Lieutenant (brother) Sean O’Rourke, fiery, impulsive, love each other but have different goals in life; he wants to rise up in the gang and make a name for himself; Siobhan wants to stay under the radar. They have each other’s backs, but don’t typically work together. More often, they feed each other information that the other could use.

Mechanic – Ezzy, dwarf. Very gifted at repairing and maintaining motorcycles. Doesn’t like it when people ask about her name, which is short for Esmerelda. Doesn’t like puns either. Or short jokes.

Mob Captain (Maeve’s father) Seamus O’Malley, human. A very hard man that hides it behind a charming façade. His daughter knows he’s part of the mob, but has no idea how high up he is, or what kinds of jobs he has sent Styx on. He is one of the two people that know both of her identities, and is constantly trying to recruit her, though she’s managed to continue as a private contractor thus far. Most of her work for him so far has been solo. He’s one of the younger cousins, so while he’s a captain, he’s not actually very far up in the Family.

Agent (music) – Silver Stevens, elf, – thinks he is way smoother than he actually is, but good at finding gigs last-minute. Hits on anything with a pulse, but doesn’t take offense at rebuffs. Has connections with Horizon Group, and an addiction to

Arms dealer – Feng, Ork, very matter-of fact, likes people who appreciate her wares. Styx is a good customer who always pays upfront. Feng appreciates that, too, and sometimes gives her deals on guns and related equipment. Carries everything Ares has ever made; might have connections there but doesn’t talk about that, just like she doesn’t talk about her customers (or look too closely at their licenses).

Fence – McAvoy, human. About as trustworthy as a skunk, and twice as smelly, but able and willing to fence just about anything. Takes a reasonable cut and doesn’t ask too many questions.
