Rules Q&A

I have pdfs of the DCC rulebook, The Umerican Survival Guide, and Umerica Unnatural. I don't want to hand these out pirate-style, but when we get to the point of Level 1 characters, I can provide enough for everyone to play their chosen character (the free character sheets have most of the character rules on them anyway). Same with whatever spells or psychic powers you end up with (yes! Umerica Unnatural has Psychics!).

If you are brand-spanking new to DCC, that hopefully won't be too much of an obstacle. If you've played a D&D-esque D20 game of almost any kind, you know most of what you need to play the game already.

Okay, so I read the armor rules. What are fumble die and an armor check penalty. I started reading DCC, but I haven't completed it. I faintly remember that a normal check is d20 plus your attribute modifier? Any circumstance bonus is added by giving a bonus dice chain that goes up and down based on advantage or disadvantage (d2 to d30?).

Fumble die: In DCC, you roll on a fumble table when you fumble. Rolling high is bad. The size of the die you use is determined by the armor you are wearing. This is called the "Fumble Die". Bulkier armor = more clumsy = bigger fumble die = you can get worse results on the fumble table.

Armore check penalty: This is a penalty to various kinds of checks (thief skills, spellcasting checks, etc). More armor = bigger penalty.
