With that said, the idea of MotW is that you will need to figure out the monster, what it wants, what it can do, and how to kill it. in 95% of mysteries, it always comes down to a fight, so unless a monster's weakness is being outsmarted or it is so great a threat that the only way to defeat it is with big magic, you will eventually have a brawl to the death at the end of every mystery. That said, sometimes monsters will attack before you know how to defeat them, so you have to decide if you want to run or delay running to learn more about it at the risk of harm.
I'll explain how healing works after someone gets hurt, but in short it is hard to heal without moves that heal, but you heal 1 harm after each fight if you take time to do first aid.
