Swords of the Serpentine is a gumshoe system as well. It is Swords and Sorcery, so think old school literature. It was less about epic battles more about using your wits. Sorcery is never good, and comes at a cost (corruption).
Quote:
Swords of the Serpentine is a sword & sorcery game of daring heroism, sly politics, and bloody savagery, set in a fantasy city rife with skullduggery and death. The rules adapt the GUMSHOE investigative roleplaying system to create a fantasy RPG with a focus on high-action roleplaying and investigation inspired by the stories of Fritz Leiber, Terry Pratchett, Robert E. Howard, and others.
I have played this at a gen con a few years back before they released the book. We were a group of plucky orphans, and the system handled it very well. I have spoken to the designer, because I wanted to get that adventure to run yall though. It is on preorder, which is a shame because I want it NOW! But soon!!
