Dear players, please character generation info here and decide if you want to go with point buy or roll ability scores. If you choose to roll post here with roll like one I've added here
If you don't like your Roll you can switch standard array (you can't fall back to point buy any more). Standard array is 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8

You can discuss race/class/subclass choice in this thread between players to avoid role overlapping. I'm looking forward for you to complete/update your PC details and characteristics as we play, the minimum I need to start game is for you to:
Chose and upload PC avatar to your character sheet
Define 6 ability scores, define class/subclass/background/ either you start with gold or equipment.

If we need a tank, I could build a character for that.

That said, I have a Bard character that I’ve been playing with in a character sheet. He’s a very heavyset dwarf and I would play him as a cheese-obsessed cook (he would gain goodberry through a feat and I would beg GM to let me reflavor the berries as tiny cheese balls that can give 1hp). His name is Goudric Brieshield, but he goes by the stage name: Goudric the Grate.

I did see GM mention that Jack of All Trades and Expertise are difficult to use on our platform. So let me know and I can choose something else.

I’ll be going point buy. I’ve added my character sheet, but just as an example. I’m happy to create a whole new character if it makes more sense for group synergy reasons.

And I’ll roll for starting gold. My practice roll was 150! Fingers crossed it’s not terrible.

Welp… I messed that roll up. Looks like it would be 11 x 10gp = 110gp starting gold.

Feel free to play bard or rogue. The only drawback is - you will need to manually write or adjust your skill check rolls, while other players could roll them with two easy mouse clicks and don't need to recall their modifiers.

Alright...so I'm still getting things put together, but looking at options I'm still very interested in the House Sivis Agent, who is working for the ghost of the first Proctor of The Trust, making her a Pact of the Undead Warlock. So she at least thinks she is a secret agent for the Zilargo government. If that doesn't really come up, it's not a big deal but she will be looking for ways to file secret reports on whatever she sees.

To embrace these secret agent shenanigans, her main method of attack will be the spell Mind Sliver (Tasha's) followed by a knockout shot from her sprite familiar's bow via the Investment of the Chain Master invocation. This will mean a lot of Saving throw rolls for the monsters, just as a heads up.

And of course if that's a problem I am willing to change tactics. Don't want to put to much work on anyone.

Very cool! Between @forkbeard ‘s rogue, your warlock and my bard, we’re a pretty squishy group. I would be happy to switch to a paladin build that would work and would provide some healing too.

Or do you think the rogue will make a strong melee character? I don’t know much about rogues.

Also, I’ll be alright manually rolling some things. I’ll just make notes so I don’t forget :)

Dear players. I want share my desire to tie your backgrounds into the story. I have pretty good idea how to involve any PHB background and design a hook for it. For those of you who chose a background exotic for Eberron resident I will need to work with you to better understand what would motivate your PC to accept the risky task you are going to be assigned. And - more importantly - what would motivate your patron to trust your PC. Please don't take it as an offence - I welcome your choice, just want to make story reasonable (I need reason why it is exactly your PC who were selected for for the job)

Folks, I’m going to switch to an Oath of Redemption Paladin character. He’ll be kind of like an alternative healing guru who is all about balance and harmony and the mystical connection of the universe. He wears sandals made from organic hemp and is big into crystals and meditation. You get the picture.

He should give us the tankiness we need!

I think two full casters could be fun but so would a non-caster. I’m a half-caster and I could somewhat fill the healer role. Let’s see what @Kilikina is thinking of playing as.

Also, GM, can we customize our backgrounds? And should we roll for HP?

Yes you can use "Customizing a Background" rule. I may ask you some questions to build a better motivation for your PC in this story.

I apologize I'm just now really getting to make a character, I got down with the sickness. Like actually, stuck in bed sick.

I was thinking originally about playing a barbarian, but since I've never played Eberron before, I think I'm going to make a ranger. It's kinda my comfort character. I'll build it today, but I'm open to changing it if I need to.

I'll accept that stat roll.

I think a ranger would be awesome! Then we’d have a paladin, warlock, wizard/rogue?, and ranger. Paladin covers a bit of healing. I think that covers most angles, right?

Sounds like a great party makeup to me.
