I'm just tingling with antici............................................................................................................................pation
Aug 31, 2016 9:46 pm
Are we chained standing or sitting?
Aug 31, 2016 9:49 pm
Are we ready to start, or are we awaiting some sort of prompting?
Aug 31, 2016 9:57 pm
I'm drafting my first post. Just trying to picture if we're sitting on the floor or standing.
Quote:
Your feet are secured by iron cuffs tethered by one long chain. Your arms are secured to the wall above by manacles.
Aug 31, 2016 10:19 pm
Standing. Trying not to hang on your arms too much, as they're managed above your head.
Aug 31, 2016 10:21 pm
I can give you some promoting. This is a moment for you all to roleprole play a "what're you in for" scene

Sure, I'll take a promotion!

How many times / how often can I retry that Str check to break bonds?

I want to be promoted too!

Question- where is my familiar?
Sep 1, 2016 1:28 am
Not there. Through your empathic link, you know it's alive, but leery of trying to get past the guard house to cross the bridge
Sep 1, 2016 12:35 pm
Blackerly says:
"Get 'em unshackled!"
I misunderstood, thought they were taking us all up to meet this visitor. I realize now it was Alyndra alone. Even then, they would've had to remove the long chain to get at her, and Magoldor would've tried to kick a guard then. Doesn't matter, I rolled a 1 anyway. :-)

Yep, which is why you got pimp slapped by a guard. :D
Sep 2, 2016 1:01 pm
I'm not sure if the warhammer is meant for me. Nor even the unholy symbol. I don't remember everybody else's skillsets & weapons of choice.
Sep 2, 2016 1:08 pm
Weapon? Who needs weapons?
Sep 2, 2016 1:18 pm
I think the symbol might be for the cleric, but we'd need to arm wrestle of something for a weapon. Harrison is pretty strong. So if there's something he could use as an improvised club lying around, that would probably suffice.

I figure once we take out the guards there will be weapons abound.

As a cruel twist of fate, we take out the guards only to discover they've been armed with saps made of tightly wound paper. A villian's luck...
Sep 2, 2016 3:23 pm
At least paper burns?

Speaking of, is the prison made of stone?
Sep 2, 2016 3:31 pm
I'm thinking that it is made of stone. Most big buildings were back then, I think
Sep 2, 2016 4:27 pm
Harrison is smart enough, I'll give this one to you: Your feet are shackled together, and all of your shackles are attached to the same chain...but not a wall. Your leg shackles could be used as an improvised flail until you found something else.
Sep 8, 2016 5:10 pm
And so the inter-party strife and mistrust begin!
Sep 8, 2016 7:43 pm
FYI, I'm going to take a page out of Naatkinson's book here, and roll Initiative for everyone. Seems to help streamline the process.

Also, would everyone prefer if I just used "passive" Perception for things, unless you actively look/listen for something? (Passive Perception is 10 + Perception Modifier)
Sep 8, 2016 7:45 pm
That's not ominous at all. :-p

Sure, works for me.

P.S. Was I able to Detect Magic before everything started happening?

OOC:
Sure. The only magic you see in this room right now is the magic of the veil...and to you, it has a very powerful aura.
Sep 8, 2016 7:55 pm
Sure let's give it a go. If it doesn't work we can always modify our process.
Sep 8, 2016 7:55 pm
You know my answer already lol

The only common denominators here are me and you! :P
Sep 8, 2016 8:40 pm
Like I said, we can't GM for each other! We're each too good at "denominating" the other
Sep 8, 2016 8:41 pm
I refuse to let the dice prevent me from having a good time. Like I said, I'll reroll a bard, since I'm always the comedic relief :D
Sep 8, 2016 9:09 pm
Clearly I need to GM for both of you and see who dies first. ;)

... I like this idea
Sep 12, 2016 2:44 am
There was mention of a plan previously, but I was just throwing in some dialogue to play on the idea that the ogres has motivations it'd like to see realized. For a plan, what if we all invited the guards in, but left the doors unlocked and let the ogre handle them while we beat a quick retreat?
Sep 12, 2016 2:47 am
It's a sound plan, but kinda hard to imagine some of these people not wanting a piece of the guards. Some of our PC's are petty/cruel/bloodthirsty.

Absolutely true. I was more thinking it might better to get ourselves someplace more open. It would suck if we got overrun while still in the prison. If there way we could conveniently post a sentry to keep a look out for more guards, we might be able to take a few whacks at these guards ourselves.
Sep 12, 2016 3:22 am
Xharin is not equipped to put up a fight so he's going to stay out of combat as much as possible. However, if someone else wants to beat the guards to a pulp while he watched he'd be fine with that.
Sep 12, 2016 3:25 am
Harrison is built for brute force, and cold, cold logic. If anyone would care to join him, he'd probably like the chance of having superior numbers against an enemy.
Sep 12, 2016 3:43 am
Xharin prefers to misdirect, confuse, and neutralize his enemies with minimal effort, giving his allies the advantage. He feels that only a simple mind would rely on mere numbers. He's prepared for a battle of wills, one in which only he can be victorious. Also, mwahahaha.
Sep 12, 2016 6:13 am
Magoldor is nuts, obviously, and a raving zealot to boot. He's been dreaming of bathing in these Mitrans' blood since day one.
Sep 12, 2016 11:30 am
Don't forget, Alyndra told you guys that the person who facilitated your escape wants to meet with you
Sep 12, 2016 12:44 pm
Alyndra would be more than happy to stab a guard or two on the way out, just not if it's gonna jeopardize the escape
Sep 12, 2016 7:24 pm
BTW, I'm gonna throw this out there: It's entirely possible to gain Grumblejack as a Cohort through the Leadership feat, if anyone feels like taking it...just depends on how you treat him and whether he lives long enough to get to that point.

Just a little GM freebie for you guys ;)

Yes...consider the plot cookie. Look at the gooey, delicious chocolate and peanutbutter chips...taste the vanilla...just ignore the slight almond taste there...I promise it's not arsenic ;)

Don't worry about it here. I'll keep you from dying.
Sep 15, 2016 6:42 pm
I probably should have asked how far the main entrance is from where we are.
Sep 15, 2016 7:55 pm
Grumblejack's cell door is about 85 feet from the door. I'm ruling it that they're gonna hear any strange noise coming from the block

Did you use Unholy Strike while I was away? If so I should mark off one use (I can only use the blessings 3x per day).

Yes, I did...but everyone please hold for a moment before making another post.

OK...there...I think I fixed it. Sorry guys. I really goofed up a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully, everyone is on the same page now.

Do I have a sense of timing/how far out of our way we'd have to go if we want to take out Blackerly?
Oct 10, 2016 1:13 pm
The servant was pretty detailed about how to get to Blackerly before she passed out. You guys are in room 11, in the south east corner of the keep's great hall. She told you that the poker game Blackerly was running is in the eastern gatehouse, which is room 3c. The only way in there is to go into the western gatehouse (room 3a), climb up the ladder into the upper gatehouse (3d), and then climb the ladder down into the eastern gatehouse (3c). From what she's told you, that's the only way in or out of it, and it will take you about 15 to 20 minutes to get there, moving carefully and stealthily.
Oct 17, 2016 7:15 pm
I will be extremely busy the next three days. I may be able to make short posts now and then, but can't promise anything. Go ahead and move my characters along and roll for me if necessary. Thanks!
Nov 1, 2016 2:52 am
Is there a limit to cantrips or can they be cast multiple times? I forget how it works...
Nov 1, 2016 11:47 pm
In Pathfinder, cantrips can be cast as many times as you want. You can only prepare so many a day, but you can cast them all day long.
Nov 14, 2016 8:30 pm
Do I need to roll anything?

Going to drop this game to save space. When you come back to it, invite me back in!
