I'm very familiar with 13A, but not Nocturne. Considering you've described it as a dark fantasy/gothic setting, I'm thinking I'd like to go with a Dark Elf Necromancer. Will that work? The Necromancer has some out-of-the-norm talents and spells, so I'm guessing we'd need to have good dialogue about it all, especially in combat.

Submitted. I took a +2 in Int (Class) and Dex (Race). The only thing I think I'm missing at this point is Icon Relationships. Does Nocturne use the same 13 Icons as whats in the core book (Dragon Empire) or are there different Icons to choose from?

I have also submittet a character. A wild elf barbarian. What is the rest thinking of playing?

It does have it's own Icons. Let me figure out a way to get these to a viewable location then I'll put a link up.

I'm planning to start this up this week. With that in mind, can you all please submit your characters as soon as possible thanks.

I'm toggling between a Dark Elf Commander, Forgeborn Cleric, Wood Elf Chaos Mage, and a Dragon Spawn (Black) Monk from random character creation rolls.

Guys, can you submit characters for review by the end of this week please. If for some reason you need more time then please let me know, however I'd be keen to start this adventure running over the weekend.

Some things I could use some guidance on:
I'm not sure I've put feats/abilities/talents in the right place. Their all there as far as I can see but might need shuffled around.
Calculating the attacks - the online guide I found and Players Guide PDF seem to have conflicting calculations on this?
Can I have a greataxe and a handaxe?

LadySurly - Melee shouldn't be +19. I've corrected it to be +4. You'll also need to add your damage for hits and misses for each weapon. You can have a handaxe or a greataxe, not both. The greataxe is two handed.

I've also upped your hit points to 33 as they should be 8 + CON modifier (3) x 3 = 33

So if I'm going with a greataxe (because obviously...) am I right in thinking damage for hits is d10+1. I'm not sure how to calculate the miss? Isn't it zero?

Right sorry I thought my CON modifier was 2...

Damage for a greataxe is 1d10+STR modifier. I can't see your character sheet, but if you have a +1 STR, then you're correct.

Miss damage for a Fighter is normally equal to your level.

13th Age has a slight twist in that melee attacks can score damage even when they miss. Usually it's your level, so 1 point of damage.

LadySurly, you don't seem to have taken a ranged weapon. Can you take one from your class list and add that and the damage to your character sheet.

Do I have to have a ranged weapon?

You're not obliged to I suppose.

Maybe your character doesn't like them.

No I didn't see her as a ranged weapon sort of person. It's not a real fight unless you get up close and personal...

Guys, I've closed it out at 4 players with the hope that someone else will join in due course. I'll be posting the first posts of the first episode tonight.

How do I go about seeing other characters profiles? Or do I just wait until they introduce themselves ingame?

We don't have an OoC thread yet so I'll ask here, where did you want us to roll our Icon Relationships? Will we reroll monthly since sessions will likely blur?

@LadySurly you'll have to wait for people to submit their character to the game and post as them or search through the character database for 13th Age characters if they're shared out (Little book icon toggled).

Thanks - I eventually noticed when I was trying to figure out how you posted as your character and I posted as 'myself' as it were. Am getting the hang of it a bit more now. :)

I'll set up an OOC thread just now. There and monthly is the answer to your question. Sounds as good an idea as any.
