DOOM OF THE SAVAGE KINGS:
SETTING, TOUCHSTONES, SUBJECT MATTER

SETTING
We'll play in one of the default / classic DCC settings, Aéreth. That means...

The world is larger than your characters will ever know. As they explore, remember these facts of medieval life:

Almost all common folk live and die within a few miles of their birthplace.
Overland travel is dangerous and expensive. Most peasants can afford only to walk.
Cultural variation is measured in towns and valleys not nations and continents.
Most commoners are illiterate.
Rare is the human who has traveled more than 20 miles from their home.
Halflings and Dwarves generally prefer to keep to their own, but do mix in from time to time with human populations. Elves are creatures of Fae and almost never seen mingling with humans.
There is no reliable form of long-range communication

TOUCHSTONES
The Broken Sword (Poul Anderson)
Lankhmar Stories (Fritz Leiber)

SUBJECT MATTER
Typical Harrigan-style grim fantasy action, blood and guts, horror, murder, etc. Maybe a little lighter than usual.
There are some dark moments and themes in the module, but I'll be sure to keep from getting too grody. I think I know all your preferences for that stuff, but speak up here or in the game if you want us to adjust course.
