Palempsest Playtest Interest Check
Welcome to a world of magic and technology; a world where the landscape and its people’s daily lives have been shaped by powerful magic and advanced sciences. A world where massive cityscapes exist next to untamable wilds. This world where children of the six races sit down at school together to learn of math, and literature, of science and alchemy, of history and how magic came into this world.
Six great cities house most of the world’s population. In their streets you’ll see Fae, Dwarves, Humans, Ryzen, Vampires, and Yokai about their daily lives. They may be headed to the Centurion arena, using social media, or playing a V.R. or Holo game. Roads of energy and towering struts connected with portals for faster travel.
Unless you venture into the wilds. In the wilds mundane and magical creatures will be your end if you’re not really… really and lucky. That is if the world itself doesn’t bring your end: mana storms, greater and wilder than the storms we know, hungry plants, hunting beasts and more are waiting outside the edges of your well protected home.
Welcome to a world where wild fantasy, advanced technology and the mundane have melded into one.
Welcome to Earth, thousands of years in your future.
You are vigils, sentinels of peace and protection, superpowered enforcers, agents for the stability of the city. You are superpowered cops in a city of powers, magic and technology; Employed heroes that can enforce law and justice upon those that use their extraordinary talent to harm and disrupt society.

Basic Setup
I am rechecking interest for a playtest of a Fantasy Sci-Fi game. To start I'll have an option of pregens, listed below. first come first serve. Characters don't have names or genders/pronouns yet. Feel free to choose something you want.
You will all be a team, and have worked together before, which will be reflected on your Team Sheet.
Willing to answer any questions.

This game will be respectful to all players and all minorities. Everyone will feel comfortable here, we're here to enjoy a game.

Basic System Info
So, it's a Tri-Stat system, with Body, Mind, and Soul being the base Stats. From those, and modified by race, you derive your Defenses(Instinct, Tenacity, Grit) and other Derived Stats(Action Speed, Health, Shifts, and Luck).
Stats start off with 1D4, then increase in tier by increasing both Die-Quantity(Dq) and Die-Value(Dv). so they upgrade to: 2D6, 3D8, 4D10, 5D12, 6D20.
Stats
Body is basic strength and muscle control. It’s the degree to which your character can use and push and punish their body. Health, Instinct, Action Speed, & Grit, are all based on Body.
Mind is your character's thought process; its speed and flexibility and perception. It shows your character’s will and drive, too. Instinct, Action Speed, Tenacity, and Shifts are all based off of Mind.
Soul is your character’s core. It shows your character's inner strength, their inner life, and often connection to magic. Grit, Tenacity, Luck, and Shifts are all based off of the Soul stat.
Defenses
Instinct is a character’s ability to move without, and even to avoid, taking damage or getting hit. They could not complete any complicated physical feat without it. When the character avoids arrows, traps, and moves from cover to cover unharmed, that’s Instinct. It’s the character slipping through. It is based on die quantity (Dq) of the Body and die value (Dv) of the Mind.
Grit is how much stress a character’s body can take without having it affect them: the measure of their physical toughness. When the character doesn’t get affected by poisons, slowness, or other lasting effects, that’s their Grit. It’s the character working through. It is based on Dv of the Soul and Body Dv.
Tenacity is how much mental strain, and mental attacks, a character can take. When the character can ignore mind magics, illusions, fear effects and the like, that’s their Tenacity. It’s the character pushing through. It is based on the Mind Dq and the Soul Dv.

Derived Stats
Action Speed is your character’s ability to take actions quickly, to move from one thing to another with great or minor speed. It is determined by Mind Dq and Body Dv.
Health is the amount of life a character has and is roughly how much damage a character can take before dying. It is based on the Body stat. It is the Body Die Value multiplied by 5.
Shifts are your character’s ability to do special actions, like use their powers or magic. The Dv of Mind and Soul added together determine the Shifts of a character.
Luck is your character's extra boost, their unexplained fortune. The way they can do a little bit extra or push just further than they normally would. Their Soul Die Rank (eg: 1 for D4, 2 for D6, 3 for D8...) is the number of luck die they can roll in one chapter, and the die value is the die value of their luck die. They can add a luck die to any roll, and rolling a 1 doesn't count against their exploding dice. These regenerate at a rate of 1 per extended rest, or can also be awarded back to you by your Fate. S:DS

Skills
Most things a character does is a skill. Each skill has a base Stat connected to the skill that determines the type of die rolled, then getting more training and experience in a skill gives more dice to roll. Skills have levels of specialization as they improve, getting more and more specific in uses as they improve. A skill can have more than one specialization if wanted. Gaining specialization increases the amount of dice rolled, when applicable, but the base skill can always be used.
Characters can get 1 or 2 dice/tiers of training without specialization, then increasing to 3 or 4 requires a tier of specialization, then 5 dice with the next tier, then 5 dice with the next tier.

So a character may have Athletics 2D8: Running 4D8: Sprinting 5D8
So whenever they were climbing or ice skating they can always roll 2D8, but when they run they can roll 4D8 if not sprinting, and if sprinting 5D8.

Talents, Powers, Etc roll the same way, and further tiers of training and specialization are given when getting more powerful in the Talent. They each have an associated stat as well.

Rolling
Actions are resolved in one of 2 ways, when confronting something with a base difficulty a flat, unchanging number needs to be overcome. Like climbing over a fence could be Athletics(4), or recalling some information could be Knowledge(6), if any of the dice are above the difficulty the character succeeds.
When rolling against a living creature, especially combat, the creature or character that rolls the highest roll on any one of their dice succeeds. For example if someone trues to punch a creature they would roll their Unarmed: Brawl (We'll say 3D6), vs the creature who would roll Instinct (We'll say 2D4).
The character rolls 2,3,5. The creature rolls 2, 3. The creature is hit and takes damage.
And More dice above the other creature's highest rolled dice can gain extra benefits.

Much more info found In This Forum, and my Rough Draft PDFs: [1], [2], [3].

But all you really need to know is what character you want, and the rest comes pretty easily.

Sounds fun and interesting. I would like to play either the Elf or the Youkai.

If you get other players to the point I reached then I am up for finishing the creation process and moving on to testing.
