Circus Archetypes

- Animal Trainer

are we starting with one of these archtypes?

Not necessary, they are archetypes you may use if you wish. Archetypes are not required, they make you loose a feat in order to open other one, I will put the link for regular archetypes as well (I am a little squeeze by time right now, so I am not necessary too quick.)

Other Archetypes

Again only Core Rulebook or Advanced Players Guide.

Archetypes are no required, to choose an archetype you must select the archetype dedication feat generally (level 2 feats)

The reason I ask, is that it is not unheard of starting with a fee Archtype, but often it's a house rule or part of the adventure. Ei. Strength of Thousands is a game where you are students at a magic school. There all players get a free archetype (wizard or druid) as they reach level 2.
