Discussion on Character Creation

So here we are ready to talk about a lady bearded dwarf monk.

My first question is why did you leave your monastery ? Are you still a monk on a mission, did you take the final test, or did you simply escape ?

Martha Barns, or Marty sometimes if you're willing to buy her a round of beer or two, was sent to be taken care of by the monks of a monastery since she was a baby. She learned to practice their ways until the day she snuck out after dark and discovered the wonders of the local tavern. After all, if she was going to be stuck in the company of old men, the ones at the tavern told better stories and knew a limitless amount of dirty jokes. Her old teachers weren't happy to see her go, of course, but accepted that she had to find her own way in life.

For background, I am looking at Blow-in (Deception). Not because Marty is trying to escape her past, but because she's very fond of tall tales and exaggerated stories that she heard so many times in the tavern.

Error in abilities Cha = 8 (Dwarves have a Flaw in Charisma)

Thanks for checking, I did invest an ability boost into Charisma so 10 should be correct. Here is the breakdown:


Martha is now a Strong-Blooded Dwarf with Dwarven Doughtiness.

I see the problem race is Constitution OR Widdom and 1 free pick (you should have only 2 pick not 3) and wth a flaw in Charisma as shown.

No, I don't think so. Races without any flaws get boosts to 2 stats, while races with a flaw get boosts to 3 stats to compensate.

You did not take the Monk Kit for equipment ?

Look at your sheet, I think there are some error (HP is wrong for example)

I didn't even know there were equipment kits. The character creation page at aonprd says characters begin with 15 gold to buy equipment.

Good catch about hit points, I missed that both race and class added them. Martha should be at 22 then.

An if Imay ask, why do you take a shield, it will bother you since you attacking mostly unarmed, same wth explorer outfit.If you're a monk a robe should suffice.

As long as Martha has one empty hand, she can make unarmed attacks, so she'll be able to Raise A Shield with her other hand sometimes. She won't have a weapon equipped, the dagger just comes from her race so I added it to the sheet.

Explorer's Clothing doesn't do anything for now, but later she might decide to buy some Armor Runes so that will be handy.
