This is extremely frustrating and
not a problem our GM can solve.
The thing is that I have read the lore and appreciate the much simpler setting. Just the forest and its people, no evil litches or mad gods gunning for power. Just people, bandits and a mysterious forest fire. I went to the
humblewood webpage and found the free comicbooks and read them. They gave a good idea of the setting
But making a character for this setting, that I could find interesting to play has proven to be a frustrating challenge.
I first looked at the
artificer, they don't come into their own before level 3. So that is 1st and 2nd level just being a hampered spellcaster I knew that I would resent that.
Then I looked at the
Warlock, but keeping to the setting, anything but the Predator patron doesn't really fit this setting.
Then I looked at the
Lay-line wizard, and it is cool and all, but I have played too many wizards by now.
Then I looked at the
Sorceror, and my desire to play an Aberrant mind bloodline was peaked.
The
Bandit Cunning feat and the
Bandit Defector background had both caught my eye, so it was time to find the right rase. Again, staying true to the setting that mostly left the predator animals. The
Hedge looked fun but would not become a bandit. Neither would the
Jabeen
All in all, I yet again failed to make a D&D 5e character that I would like to play. I think I have reached a 5e fatigue where I have explored all the classes and character concepts that I can come up with. Not that long ago I ended up dropping out of an ongoing 5e Eberron game because I could not make a character I was excited to play.
I think that @valdattaMadun should pick another player from the recruitment list and I should stop signing up for 5e games
