OOC: XP from Chapter 4

Douklan advances to Level 3.
1. Less lucky on the HP check, Douklan's HP only increase by 1, from 23 to 24.
2. His base attack bonus increases to +3.
3. His saving throws are now Evasion: 11, Mental: 11, Physical: 13
4. Gaining 3 skill points, he spends 1 to gain the "Connect" skill at L0 and spends 2 to "Lead" to L1.
OOC:
I have a question about the calculation of the ranged weapons' "to hit" modifiers. At L2, you'd listed Douklan as having 1d20+5 for his "to hit" roll. I'm missing something now, though. The attack modifier increasing to +3 seems like it would increase the "to hit" by one, too, but I don't see how to add the numbers up to +6.
+3 attack bonus
+1 Shoot skill
+1 DEX mod
...what else am I missing? Is there an additional +1 bonus for being a Warrior (I don't think so, that's already in the big attack bonus)? Do the laser weapons themselves provide a +1 bonus? Or should Douklan's "to hit" roll have been 1d20+4 at L2 and it now becomes 1d20+5 at L3?

Rolls

Douklan HP check (+2/level, no CON mod) - (3d6+6)

(124) + 6 = 13

Yup. The lack of recoil for non-Heavy energy weapons makes them more accurate, granting them a +1 bonus to hit rolls.

Just to confirm, we had 3xp and gained 3xp, correct?

Yup. You have 6 XP in total, so you have a level 3 PC now.

I gotta admit that I misread the XP table the first time. The first time I read it, I read it like the skill point table. In the skill point table the number of points given are the number to get from the previous level to the next level. In the XP table, it is just the total XP accumulated overall to that point. So, when we got to Level 3, it caught me a little off-guard. :-)

It will now take twice as long to get to Levels 4 and 5. And even longer than that to get past Level 5.

Bumping Con to 14, Increasing both pilot and program to 1. That leaves 1 SP for later.

Rolled exactly my old HP, so +1.

Rolls

Hit points - (3d6+9+10)

(334) + 19 = 29

How many skill points does that all take. Normally going from skill-0 to skill-1 takes two skill points. So, the above looks like you are using five or six skill points. What am I missing?

(I am not trying to call anyone out. I am just trying to learn and if I am mistaken on how things work, I wanna make sure I do it correctly!)

Increasing from 0 to 1 takes 2 SP. You must choose only one of those.

My revision. It's asynchronous, so it's better to learn new things after its approved. =)

Misread the section. Only upping Program to 1. Pilot will remain at 0.

Actually, @Esidrix because you have partial Warrior and Die Hard, your Hit points roll should have been: 3d6 + 3 (con modifier) + 6 (warrior) + 6 (Die hard) + 10 ( GM bonus) = 35.

I also forgot about your Die hard. But I realized that you survived unscathed an explosion in the shuttle bay. =)

I am amused by the idea of someone taking Die Hard-1 as the Focus at Level 10 and just gaining a huge 20 HP bonus for their ultimate level. May not mean much to a Warrior character, but that'd be a huge swing for squishy-types.

I also forgot about the Die Hard :)
