Established Superhero Teams

The two superhero teams undermentioned in this thread are not the only ones active in New York City.
They are included here mainly to give you a thematic feel for the game, and to provide an opportunity to include them in your backstory if you so desire.

Let me know in case you find one of the heroes described in this section clashes with a concept you had for your character. I'll happily adjust if needed

The Vanguard

The Vanguard are a group of Silver Generation superheroes who banded together to fight against calamitous threats to humanity. These heroes don't trouble themselves with fighting criminals, corrupt politicians, or social injustice; not even when they can spare the time to do so. They never cared much about mundane struggles in the past, and even less so presently. It is only a matter of time before the Vanguard disbands, its members seeking their fortunes beyond our planet.

Current Roster:

The Silver Savior - wielder of the 'Silver Spark', a source of nigh unlimited cosmic energy.
The Traveler - A time traveler from the 31th century
Titan - proclaiming himself to be a primordial god, Titan can grow to mind-boggling sizes
Mer-Lin - The banished sorcerer prince of Atlantis

Trinity
Trinity is an established team, formed by like-minded idealistic superheroes almost thirty years ago. There was no injustice too small for Trinity; the group was willing to consider any call for help from anyone, anywhere. Their naivety ended up costing the life of their founding member, Preacher, when Trinity was lured into an ambush after answering an anonymous appeal for help. The group never quite recovered from the loss, becoming more cautious and suspicious, and being very selective of which causes they championed.

Trinity's original members are starting to show their age and are just about ready to turn in their capes - if they could only find someone to take up their mantle.
