Hello @witchdoctor @Qralloq @htech

As a DM, my first experiences were Eastern Asia kind of adventures. As a Korean it felt natural as a starting point instead of feudal European kind of fantasy stories.

After reading the intro, what kind of stories and characters you see yourself playing in this kind of prelude.

Thanks,

Hi! Thanks for the invite! I look forward to gaming with everyone. =)

I'm quite flexible to the group's interests, but, if possible, I would love to play with a diplomatic envoy, investigator and master illusionist of Clan Akechi, confounding adversaries and uncovering hidden truths that elude the naked eye.

I've played a fair bit of Legend of the Five Rings and some Usaki Yojimbo. That style of game reminds me a lot of the best parts of fantasy, of competent people in a complex world trying to balance rival interests while attending to existential threats.

I'd love to play a representative of Clan Kurohitsuji, a kind of supernatural troubleshooter or investigator sent to find the truth of what's happening while not letting the other clans use it against us.

I played L5R when it was a card game quite a bit, then a couple of times when it was a TTRPG. I'm familiar with the themes and tropes of the "Mythic East" and I think it'll be a fun experience...even if it's filtered through a very Western cultural view on my part.

I think I'd like to play either a young Shirogane warrior out to make a name for himself in service to others or an itinerant Tachibana mystic craftsman out to see the world.

Both are very idealistic and practical minded people...if a bit parochial and simplistic. Maybe a nice balance to the more high-minded characters Qralloq and Htech propose.

Shirogane. Tachbana.

I'm thinking of a plot to investigate what is going on in the main city of that region and find the source of all the stories and report of wicked stuff.

But also soon in the story their mission will be to find a missing person of the city that is important for the local nobles.

Both plot are somehow related.

What are your experience in Cortex? Q. And me are learning it in another game.

I've played in Bowl's Smallville game so if the basics are similar, I've got at least some familiarity with Cortex. Seems like a pretty simple and straightforward framework for a narrative story. Figuring out how to do things & how rules interact can require a bit of discussion but that's not a terrible obstacle.

Yes cortex prime is a more updated version, very similar.
