After returning to Orlando, Henry, feeling guilty for the deaths outside of Boston, will submit his resignation to OV. He then spends most of February wrapping up his affairs. During this time any contact with his friends will never involve all four of them being at the same place at the same time.
On the first of March, he will meet with or contact the group individually to say goodbye and to tell them that he will be attending college in Scotland at the request of his grandfather. He will explain that his plan is to finish his education and return to the U.S. in 18 to 24 months. Henry will not return to the states until he breaks the no gathering policy to attend the funeral of Reg’s parents in 1999.
While attending his courses, Henry will continue to pursue information on the occult. He will use his family contacts and position to gain access to private and religious libraries in Scotland, Wales, and Northern England. His searches are for general occult knowledge, but he will always have an eye open for references to the King in Yellow.
After 22 months overseas, Henry comes under the guidance of his Grand Aunt, who has decided that if her nephew from the colonies is going to be seen on the grounds, he will have to be civilized. Around this same time, he will call Reg and write to Stevie about being recruited into the Security Division of McAlister International. Additional training and the change in his course load will prolong his stay in Europe and cut into the amount of free time he has to visit the States.
Henry’s cousin, once removed, will be named head of the Security Division shortly before the passing of his Grand Aunt in 2006. Over the following months, Henry’s security duties will become more intense, and there is a marked increase in the amount of firefights in which he is involved.
In 2015, Henry will be unaware of the delivery of the Fedex envelope. It will be accepted, scanned, and given to an intern in order to investigate the invitation’s validity and the appropriate response. Only after Reg contacts Henry about the invitation will he become aware of the situation and track it to the legal department’s office.
