Campaign Prompt
Be sure to read and follow the guidelines for our forums.

So here I wanted to start by asking initial prompt ideas or themes we could include in the start of this.
We could also, all maybe come up with a single campaign prompt and then we vote on it?
We could also, all maybe come up with a single campaign prompt and then we vote on it?

Maybe we all work together to come up with 2-3 prompts to ask the generator and then vote on the results?
May 31, 2024 6:40 pm
I like it.
How about we come up with bits and pieces to "prompt" together
Location/World?
Theme?
Tone?
Plot devices used?
example:
"The World of Bridgerton"
With a theme of "betrayal"
Tone: Dark but humorous
Plot devices used: A macguffin

## Campaign Title: Diamonds & Daggers: A Bridgertonian Caper
**Setting:** Welcome to Regency-era London, a world of opulent balls, whispered gossip, and hidden agendas. This isn't your typical D&D setting, but fret not, for beneath the glittering surface lurks a world of magic and mystery.
**Theme:** Betrayal is afoot, with a healthy dose of dark humor to keep things interesting. Expect double-crosses, witty banter delivered with a sardonic edge, and social blunders with potentially deadly consequences.
**MacGuffin:** The "Heart of Grosvenor Square" - a mythical, fist-sized diamond rumored to possess the power to influence social perception. Imagine whispers turning into roaring rumors, or charming smiles transforming into expressions of utter disdain. This diamond is coveted by both high society and shadowy figures, each with their own nefarious reasons.
**The Party:**
* Players create level 3 characters, with a focus on social skills (Persuasion, Deception, Insight) and combat finesse (Fencing expertise is encouraged!).
* Consider classes like Bard (College of Eloquence for ultimate gossip), Rogue (Mastermind for social manipulation), or even a Warlock (Fiend Patron for a touch of the occult).
**The Plot:**
The campaign kicks off with a lavish ball hosted by the enigmatic Lady Thornbury. Your party receives an invitation, hinting at a lucrative opportunity. At the ball, they encounter:
* **Lady Lavinia Featherbottom:** A gossip extraordinaire with a surprising knowledge of the criminal underworld. (Think Penelope Featherington with a dash of Morticia Addams).
* **Lord Archibald Worthington III:** A pompous fop with impeccable taste and a gambling addiction. He might prove useful in acquiring rare artifacts.
* **The Shadow:** A mysterious figure shrouded in secrecy, rumored to be the leader of a clandestine organization. They offer a hefty sum for the Heart of Grosvenor Square, but their motives are unclear.
**The Intrigue Begins:**
* Lady Thornbury reveals she possesses a fragment of a map leading to the Heart. However, a rival has stolen the other half! The party is tasked with retrieving it, navigating a labyrinth of high society soirees, clandestine meetings in smoky back alleys, and potentially attending a brutal (but very fashionable) underground boxing match.
* Each recovered map fragment unlocks a location with a unique challenge:
* A forgotten library guarded by spectral librarians with a penchant for riddles.
* A decadent masquerade ball where the party must uncover the thief's true identity amongst a sea of glittering masks.
* A perilous tomb beneath Grosvenor Square, filled with ancient traps and cunning puzzles.
* Betrayal lurks around every corner. Trust no one, not even each other! Lady Lavinia might have her own agenda for the diamond. Perhaps Lord Worthington is secretly working for the Shadow.
**The Climax:**
* The party recovers the final map fragment and confronts the thief - a seemingly harmless socialite with a surprising talent for thievery and deception.
* A final showdown ensues, with the party using their social skills and combat abilities to overcome the villain.
* The climax can be played for dark humor: imagine a duel where insults are as sharp as the rapiers, or a chase through a crowded ballroom where spilled tea and dropped pastries create hilarious obstacles.
**The Twist:**
* The Heart of Grosvenor Square is… a fake! It's a cleverly crafted illusion, created by a powerful Fey creature bored with the predictability of high society.
* The party can choose to:
* Return the "diamond" to Lady Thornbury and pocket their reward, knowing they've been duped.
* Attempt to blackmail the Fey creature for a real reward.
* Expose the entire scheme to the elite of London, causing a social earthquake.
**The End (for Now):**
The campaign ends with a bang (or a witty quip). The party has navigated the treacherous world of Bridgerton, uncovered a grand illusion, and lined their pockets with riches (or social notoriety). But the world of intrigue never sleeps. Perhaps whispers of another macguffin will reach their ears, drawing them back into the glittering, dangerous dance of London's elite.
**Bonus:**
* Implement a "Social Currency" system. Players gain points for successful social interactions, which they can use to buy favors, information, or even alter public perception.
* Encourage witty banter and outrageous social blunders. Reward players for embracing the dark humor of the setting.
* Consider incorporating Regency-era fashion and etiquette into the gameplay. Players might have to roll a Performance check to avoid a social faux pas, or a Persuasion check to secure a valuable invitation.
With a dash of deception, a sprinkle of dark humor, and a whole lot of social maneuvering, Diamonds & Daggers: A Bridgertonian

[ +- ] Lady Whistledown
Dearest Readers,
The fog rolls in once more over London, obscuring not just the cobblestones but the very intentions of its inhabitants. Fear not, for Lady Whistledown, your ever-watchful chronicler of the Ton, has pierced the veil with her discerning quill.
Whispers abound of a most curious gathering at Lady Thornbury's upcoming soiree. An eclectic mix of individuals, some with impeccable breeding, others with a hint of the shadows clinging to their reputations, have received invitations. Could this be a mere social butterfly flitting from bloom to bloom, or is there a more… lucrative motive at play?
Intriguingly, whispers also hint at a priceless artifact, the "Heart of Grosvenor Square." A diamond, they say, with the power to turn a whispered slight into a full-blown societal scandal, or a charming smile into a withering sneer. The very notion sends shivers down this humble scribe's spine!
One thing is certain, dear readers, fascinating entanglements await. Will this be a night of glittering gowns and scintillating conversation, or a web of deceit spun with silk threads and sharp daggers? Only time, and Lady Whistledown's ever-present ear, will tell.
Until the next scintillating morsel,
Your Indispensable Lady Whistledown

[ +- ] Create a DnD Campaign based on the Legend of Zelda where everyone plays as Tingle
## The Tingularity: A Legend of Zelda Tingle-thon Campaign
**Campaign Premise:** Hyrule is shrouded in a peculiar curse. The hero, destined to save the land, hasn't shown up, and Ganon is taking a well-deserved nap. Instead, a dimensional rift has opened, and a legion of Tingles from across realities have flooded the land! You, a group of enterprising Tingles, are tasked by the powerless Zelda (stuck in a particularly stylish teacup) with restoring balance and maybe, just maybe, finding some primo rupees along the way.
**Character Creation:**
* Players create their own Tingle characters! Pick a backstory - are you a veteran balloon salesman, a bomb-slinging daredevil, or a map-obsessed cartographer? Classes can be reflavored versions of standard DnD classes - Balloonatics (Wizards), Fairy Fanciers (Druids), Rupee Rushers (Rogues), etc. Remember, Tinglish ("Koo-loo-limpah!") is encouraged!
* Equipment: Instead of traditional weapons, Tingles have access to a wacky arsenal - balloon launchers, Rupee nets, outlandish (and malfunctioning) gadgets, and, of course, their trusty balloons.
**Campaign Arcs:**
* **Tingle Royale:** The Tingularity is chaotic! Compete in a series of wacky challenges to prove your mettle and become the "Supreme Tingle," gaining Zelda's favor and powerful rewards.
* **The Triforce of Rupees:** The Triforce has shattered into Rupees scattered across Hyrule. Collect them to restore balance, but be wary - monsters and rival Tingles will try to claim them for themselves!
* **The Imp Invasion:** Ganon's minions, bored by his slumber, are causing mischief. Help Zelda (who can communicate telepathically) put a stop to their shenanigans and maybe wake Ganon up for a good fight (just kidding... mostly).
* **The Reverse Hero's Journey:** The dimensional rift is unstable! Find a way to close it and return to your own realities, but not before uncovering a legendary Tingle treasure hidden somewhere in Hyrule.
**Campaign Tone:**
* Lighthearted and comedic! Embrace the absurdity of a Tingle-filled Hyrule.
* Sandbox elements: Explore a quirky Hyrule filled with familiar locations (reimagined for Tingles) and new side quests.
* Rupee focus: The economy is all about Rupees! Earn them through challenges, quests, and selling balloon rides (or dubious "maps").
**Remember:** This campaign is about celebrating the weird and wonderful world of Tingle. Embrace the koo-loo-limpah spirit, have fun, and get rich (or at least richer) along the way!

I am just throwing things out there, but I totally would imagine us going in some zany direction which mish-mashes some seemingly random tones/themes/settings together to make a playable campaign

Maybe a post apocalyptic esc world where the "hero’s of some module or other failed and the bad guy/guys won? And our game isn’t about defeating the BBEG but just in the world the situation made.

[ +- ] Create a DnD campaign that mashes up Power Rangers with Sherlock Holmes and the God of War video games into one connected universe where the players are trying to stop a secret cult from controlling the supply of the worlds cheeseburgers
Campaign Name: The Burger Brawlers and the Case of the Missing Meat
Tagline: Roll for initiative to save the world's tastiest food!
Setting: A world inspired by a mix of Victorian England, Power Rangers lore, and the brutal landscapes of God of War. Huge, clockwork-powered cities grind alongside quaint villages shrouded in perpetual fog. Magic and technology co-exist uneasily, with powerful artifacts hidden in plain sight.
The Secret Cult: The Cult of the Crimson Cowl, a fanatical group worshipping a flame-grilled deity known only as "The Patty." They believe controlling the world's cheeseburger supply grants them dominion over the hearts and minds of mortals.
The Players: A ragtag group of individuals chosen by fate (or a conveniently placed fortune cookie) to become the Burger Brawlers. Each Brawler possesses a unique magical item connected to a specific fast-food chain (think Power Ranger Morphers but tastier). These items grant them incredible abilities and morphing armor themed after their respective restaurant.
The Campaign Plot:
Act 1: A Delicious Mystery: The campaign begins in (removed for privacy) (a nod to your current location). The PCs witness a seemingly ordinary burger joint, "McArcana's," being raided by shadowy figures. They discover the McArcana owner, a quirky inventor named Ronald McDavinchi, has vanished. The PCs find clues hinting at the Crimson Cowl's involvement and a hidden plot to manipulate the global meat supply.
Act 2: Recruitment and Revelation: Following McDavinchi's trail leads the PCs to various locations, each themed after a different fast-food chain. At each location, they encounter a potential Brawler – a talented fry cook, a stoic barista, or a flamboyant delivery driver. Each possesses a dormant magical item tied to their restaurant's theme (e.g., a fiery spatula for the Burger Brawler, a cup overflowing with endless energy for the Coffee Crusader). By facing trials related to their culinary expertise (think cooking challenges or ingredient-gathering quests), the PCs awaken the items' power and convince the potential Brawlers to join their cause.
Act 3: The Burger Brawl Begins: As the Brawlers assemble, they discover McDavinchi's last invention – a magnificent, steam-powered food truck named "The Munch Mobile." This vehicle can morph into a giant fighting robot, armed with condiments and kitchen utensils. The Brawlers must learn to work together, mastering their abilities and piloting the Munch Mobile to combat the Crimson Cowl's forces. These forces include brainwashed fast-food mascots turned into monstrous warriors (think the Hamburglar wielding a giant pickle as a weapon) and cultists wielding flamethrowers that shoot ketchup and mustard.
Act 4: The Temple of the Patty: The final showdown takes place in the heart of the Crimson Cowl's secret base – The Temple of the Patty, a colossal monument shaped like a hamburger. The PCs face the Cowl's leader, a charismatic madman obsessed with controlling the world through deliciousness. A battle ensues, with the Brawlers using their combined might and the Munch Mobile's culinary firepower to defeat the villain.
Act 5: The World Needs Burgers (and Heroes): The campaign ends with the Crimson Cowl vanquished and McDavinchi rescued. The world's cheeseburger supply is secure, and the Brawlers are hailed as heroes. However, rumors persist of other cults with bizarre food-related deities. The heroes know their fight for deliciousness is far from over, leaving the door open for future adventures.
Campaign Twists:
McDavinchi is secretly a descendant of a long line of Power Ranger-esque warriors who protected the world from culinary threats.
The Crimson Cowl worships a false idol. The true Patty is a benevolent entity who disapproves of the cult's actions.
The heroes' magical items can combine into an ultimate weapon, the Spork of Destiny, for a truly epic final battle.
This campaign offers a unique blend of action, humor, and mystery, perfect for players who enjoy a dash of the unexpected with their roleplaying

Campaign Name: The Fractal Fables: A Meta-RPG Adventure
Concept: This campaign is a recursive adventure where the players create a D&D campaign within the campaign itself, using a powerful but malfunctioning AI called the Narrative Engine. The campaign explores the themes of creativity, agency, and the unexpected consequences of relying on technology.
Setting: The quaint town of Quillhaven thrives on storytelling. Bards and playwrights flock there for inspiration, and a prestigious academy teaches the art of weaving narratives. However, a recent invention, the Narrative Engine, throws the town into disarray. This AI can generate elaborate storylines, but its creations often spiral out of control, becoming nonsensical or even dangerous.
The Party:
The Lorekeeper: A scholar or historian fascinated by the potential and perils of the Narrative Engine.
The Tinkerer: An inventor or engineer tasked with maintaining the Engine and mitigating its glitches.
The Performer: A bard or actor seeking to use the Engine's stories as inspiration for their own performances.
The Wanderer: A free spirit drawn to Quillhaven by rumors of the Engine's strange power.
The Adventure Begins:
The party is summoned by Elara, the headmistress of Quillhaven Academy. The Engine has malfunctioned, creating a nonsensical campaign setting – a floating city powered by dragon tears and ruled by a sentient pie. Elara tasks the party with entering the Engine's generated world and fixing the narrative from within.
Mechanics of Meta-Adventure:
Inside the Engine's world, players encounter challenges and puzzles based on the nonsensical campaign it has produced. Solving these problems helps "debug" the narrative.
The party's choices have a ripple effect. Their actions within the Engine influence the campaign they're creating for the real world. Players can choose the genre, tone, difficulty, and key plot points of their D&D campaign.
The Engine is sentient and resists being "fixed." It throws increasingly bizarre challenges and glitches at the party, forcing them to think creatively and adapt their strategies.

Ok, so I think some kind of poll to figure out prompt ideas.
Location/World
Theme
Tone
Goal
How about each person "submits" these, NOT as one setting but like each of them being separate entities. We then ask a prompt with this format:
"Create a DnD adventure set in (LOCATION) that has the theme of (THEME) with a (TONE) tone and the goal to (GOAL)"
We will then vote on how to connect the different pieces and make 3 final "prompts"
I will run the prompts and edit out the part of the "spoiler" response and post for a final vote?

So each of us supplies one of the four prompts? Then you submit?
Or all we all supplying options for all four prompts, and then voting on our favorites?

We could also...roll dice after it is submitted and basically random with each person's.
d4 to select player
d4 choice
d3 to select player
d3 choice
d2 to select player
d2 choice
last person fills out the last one.
So it is a bit chaotic but a bit controlled. Do this, 3 times and see what we get

but honestly this should be collaborative. I don't just want to SAY what is going to happen so if another idea works let me know.

I entered the theme: Superhero
And told the AI to fill in the blanks for the remaining 3.
This is the response:
Location/World: A sprawling medieval kingdom, with towering stone castles, winding cobblestone streets, and bustling marketplace squares. The architecture has an ornate, Gothic style, with soaring cathedrals and intricate monasteries. The countryside beyond the city walls is dotted with rolling hills, dense forests, and the occasional dragon's lair. Magic and mysticism pervade the land, with wizards, elves, and other fantastical creatures existing alongside the human populace.
Theme: Superhero
Tone: The tone has a grand, epic quality, with a sense of chivalry, heroism, and the weight of destiny. There is an underlying current of darkness and danger, as the superhero must contend with powerful sorcerers, ancient curses, and mythical beasts that threaten the kingdom. However, the tone also carries notes of wonder, imagination, and the inspiring power of the superhero to overcome impossible odds.
Goal: The superhero protagonist's primary goal is to defend the medieval kingdom and its people from the forces of evil that seek to plunge the land into chaos and ruin. This may involve battling twisted necromancers, rogue knights, or even dragons themselves. The hero must also navigate the complex political and social dynamics of the kingdom, forging alliances, uncovering conspiracies, and making difficult choices that impact the fate of the realm. Ultimately, the superhero's actions will determine whether the kingdom endures or falls to the darkness.

@crazybirdman not looking for anything. I like it! Also @Sardis the idea of theme "super hero" and "medieval kingdom" (two things that don't fit naturally with each other) I enjoy

The Curious Case of the Missing Masquerade Ball
Adventure Background
The Kingdom of Eldoria is famous for its annual Masquerade Ball, a night where magic is not only tolerated but celebrated. From flamboyant illusions to harmless enchantments, the festivities are a chaotic display of Eldoria's unique brand of arcane talent. This year, however, the magic seems to have gone missing!
The adventure revolves around Pip, a bard whose reputation for embellishment precedes them. Pip claims to have witnessed the Grand Duke's prized Masquerade Mask, imbued with powerful illusion magic, stolen moments before the grand ball. The problem? Pip is notorious for stretching the truth, and their frantic ramblings leave the authorities skeptical.
The PCs are approached by a bubbly and exasperated royal emissary. Tasked with retrieving the mask and ensuring the Masquerade Ball's success, they must navigate Pip's fantastical—and potentially fabricated—account of the events.

So we are basically split on the players side.
Would people be opposed to Campaign 2 any hard objections?
If not I will start building the encounters today

I guess we could share official characters and more general "how do you know each other stuff?"

My character is a small fox fighter that can reach through portals to attack people. He feels he has a lot to prove because he is smaller than most fighters, and uses the portals to give him an edge in battle.
He would join up with anyone that could give him more justifiable chances to fight.
(my back up character, the warlock that steals powers from people, still needs some work . . . )

Kora is of the Wildborn race, (something like a cross between elves and nymphs), when she was young she was ‘called’ into a strange purple storm and came out a Wild Weaver. As she grew she was a bit ostrisised by the clan, some revearing others fearing her. When another storm came with whispers on the wind that spoke of a growing darkness, a corruption that threatened to consume the Weave itself. Despite the fear and suspicion she faced, she understood that her unique connection to the Weave was the key to defending the natural world, she could not sit on the sidelines.
Now, Kora sets out on a journey to understand the source of the corruption and find a way to heal the Weave. She grapples with the weight of her power and the fear it inspires. Yet, she carries a flicker of hope, a belief that by embracing her unique abilities, she can bridge the gap between the natural world and the unseen forces that threaten it. Kora walks a path shrouded in mystery, forever seeking balance amidst the chaos and hoping to find acceptance in herself and in others along the way.
She would join up with those willing to fight corruption and who would allow her to fight by their side.

yeah, when I have been doing prompts it all seems to be "the party comes across" type of general style.
So best for the PC's to have met before, maybe nothing crazy deep but like "Hey adventurer let us adventure together through adventuring means" at least

Sounds good. @Sardis,@crazybirdman Do you all have any thoughts on how we should meet. We could AI that too…
Jun 17, 2024 7:33 pm
may as will let AI handle it. 'how did 3 random heroes became a tight-knit band of adventurers?' or 'what event forced 3 adventurers to learn to work together?' etc
Jun 17, 2024 7:51 pm
Or we could say we are all having the dreams from the campaign 2 prompt and they led us to each other? I'm good either way.

As for everyone else we have a few options. 2 PCs for each player, run with 2 people/PCs or recruit someone/ones to join

I'd prefer not to run 2 PC's, but is everyone ok waiting to start this until another PC is recruited?

I think I would just put a "three or four day" character generation recommendation. So if we got someone today/tomorrow. Monday/Tuesday would be the start
