create an image of playing D&D with the help of AI
First of all; all credits go to @valdattaMadun for thinking up this idea.
But he quite invited others to steal his great idea and there seemed to be a lot of interest. I'd like to give it a try.
A game world run with the help of AI:
I will still be the human DM and make the choices a DM should make.
But we'll be using AI to both create new (random) input and posts.
AI might challenge the DM and drive the story in new, unexpected ways.
Much like this recruitment post is part AI, part ClaCle :)
You don't know how to use AI? Do not worry. I am no expert prompter either, but I do have access to the paid version of ChatGPT. I will post all prompts into my version of ChatGTP and share them with the table.
Cooperatively Created World, by prompt:
Together, we'll build a rich, dynamic world with the help of ChatGPT-4.
We will submit promts which I shall input into ChatGPT-4.
We will create a world together this way. Your ideas and creativity will shape the setting, lore, and everything in between.
Custom Subclasses:
Want a unique subclass? Each player can propose a subclass for an existing class, which ChatGPT-4 will draft.
A prompt could be like:
Create a subclass for D&D. The main class is rogue. The subclass should be balanced and get a unique feature at the levels as other rogue subclasses. The theme of the subclass should be a sniper-archerI will reroll the subclass once, so there are two different subclasses with the same promt.
ChatGPT is known to make mistakes. I have seen sample of: using DEX instead of STR on range attack, the ability to cast cantrips without spell slots and failing to recognize reactions. So I will manually, and transparently edit out those mistakes. Then you can pick from either subclass.
Subclasses might not be entirely balanced.
You can always pick an existing subclass (boring... :) )
Other character building:
Besides ChatGPT, we'll be using the Player's Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and Xanathar's Guide to Everything.
Stats will be determined by normal point buy, allowing you to create the character you envision.
We will begin at level 3 at least (also willing to do 5), so everyone can delve into their subclass immediatelly.
How to Join
Everyone, whoever you are is welcome to join. This is not first-come-first-serve. I'd seek 4 maybe 5 players.
I shall leave this open until June 8th, assuming there is sufficient interest by then.
If you want to join this adventure, please share the following:
Preferred Game Theme:
Let me know what type of game you'd like to play.
Whether it's high seas adventure, gothic horror, epic fantasy, or something entirely different, your input will help shape our campaign's tone and setting. Getting players who want a princess fantasy mixed in with gore-horror... that won't entirely work well. So I'd like to have a group who have all the same idea's here.
Content warnings will depend on player desired settings, prompts and output.
Subclass Idea:
Describe a subclass you'd like to play, including the main class this subclass belongs to (or leave that up to the imagination of the AI). Make it as wild as you want it to be. Or better yet, write your suggested prompt.

### Subclass: Sniper
#### Overview
The Sniper is a Rogue who has honed their skills with ranged weapons to lethal precision. They specialize in taking out targets from a distance, using stealth and cunning to remain unseen while delivering deadly shots.
#### Level 3: Sniper Training
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with longbows and heavy crossbows. Additionally, you can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls of your ranged weapon attacks.
**Sniper’s Focus**: You can use a bonus action to focus on a target within 150 feet. When you do so, you gain advantage on your next attack roll against that target before the end of your next turn.
#### Level 9: Steady Aim
At 9th level, you have mastered the art of taking your time to line up the perfect shot. If you have not moved during your turn, you can use your action to make a single ranged weapon attack. When you do so, the attack scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and your movement speed is reduced to 0 until the end of your turn.
**Enhanced Range**: The range of your ranged weapon attacks is doubled.
#### Level 13: Ghost Strike
Starting at 13th level, you can strike with such precision and stealth that your attack can bypass your target's defenses. When you make a ranged weapon attack while hidden, the attack ignores the target’s cover (including full cover if you know the target's location).
**Hide in Plain Sight**: You can attempt to hide when you are lightly obscured by natural phenomena, such as foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural occurrences.
#### Level 17: Deadly Precision
At 17th level, your skill with ranged weapons reaches its peak. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack, you can choose to deal an additional 3d6 damage. This extra damage increases to 6d6 if you had advantage on the attack roll.
**Silent Killer**: When you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack, you can choose to remain hidden. If you do, you must make a Dexterity (Stealth) check contested by the target’s Wisdom (Perception) check. On a success, you remain hidden from that target.
### Sniper Features Summary:
- **Level 3: Sniper Training** - Proficiency with longbows and heavy crossbows, Dexterity for ranged attacks, bonus action to focus for advantage.
- **Level 9: Steady Aim** - Critical hit on 19-20 if not moved, doubled range for ranged attacks.
- **Level 13: Ghost Strike** - Ignore cover while hidden, hide in natural phenomena.
- **Level 17: Deadly Precision** - Extra damage once per turn, stay hidden after attack with Dexterity check.
This subclass provides a balanced yet unique feature set for a sniper-themed Rogue, emphasizing precision, range, and stealth.
