I looked at the skills of this character and was extremely disappointed due to the low stats. Only one skill above +5 :(
I'm scrapping the Thri-Kreen idea altogether.
New concept

Kin: Auto gnome
Class: Artificer
Background: Wildspacer. I regret rolling as I finde the idea or spaceclowns to silly.
Core concept: Riding into combat on his steeldefender. I'm going to deal with mounted combat

I will be using the standart array

Now I must play a space clown! 😄

Still finalizing spell list and a few other details, but character sheet submitted.

@Naatkinson can my uncommon item be an Instrument of the Bards?

I'm going to roll!

Edit: Oops, messed up the dice syntax, I think.

Results: 15, 17, 13, 15, 10, 12

I might try and build an Astral Drifter cleric. Roll of 8 on the Divine Contact table results in Hecate, god of magic and moons.

This One is an Autognome. It has been years since I played a sorcerer and the Aberrant Mind is one I have wanted to try out. On top of that for the lev 4 feat I picked one I have never tried before Gift of the Gem Dragon

Requested uncommon item: Bloodwell Vial +1

With his AC15 and use of shocking grasp I see him as a melee spellcaster. He was created to be a "hero" in a gnome/mindflayer war, but a loophole in his command has given him free will to see what is outside.

I have just submitted him and I might revisit his spellchoices before we start, but all in all, I'm happy with him.

I submit Imti, the Shadar-Kai Twilight Cleric. Her background is an Astral Drifter wandering the Astral Sea in search of forgotten memories, but ironically she forgot her purpose and has spent nearly a century in seclusion and self-reflection wandering around before she met the party (took Hermit traits for personality/ideal/bond and Acolyte for flaw).

I rolled Hecate as her divine contact, but may I reflavor that to have been the Raven Queen returning Imti to the path?

With chainmail and shield, she can attempt to serve as a tank; at the very least tie up melee opponents while everyone else blasts from range. Her ability to Misty Step with resistance to all damage for one turn can also help in tanking. Selected a warhammer and spear from starting equipment, and spent most of the gold on two diamonds for Revivify. I've also added Mending as a cantrip, so should I run out of spell slots to heal This One, at least I'll be able to offer a chance to spend Hit Dice to heal.

For the magic item, I'd like a Broom of Flying.

I like what I'm seeing so far and I approve of the magic items that have been requested

I almost picked that one too, and would have chosen Lunar Dragon as my encounter to give the feat some narrative background. But I just couldn't let the space clown go. 😆

Character sheet submitted (will still tweak)! Quaxiver, Bladesinger wizard, wildspacer background. Was mucking about looking for art, and became inspired by MtG. Took ASI instead of feat at level 4. I had gone for the boring Arcane Grimoire for my magic item but am thinking an Immovable Rod would be more fun in a weightless environment and on spelljamming ships.

Rolling for Cosmic Encounter. Yikes Cosmic Horror!

Rolls

Cosmic Encounter - (1d10)

(2) = 2

After some discussion on the Discord, I've changed my character to become a druid in the Circle of Stars; I figure it's appropriate for a space drifter. Still taking healing spells like Cure Wounds, Lesser Restoration, and Revivify, but no longer a melee tank with leather armor and shield. The Circle of Stars allows Wild Shape to take on a starry form, which is perfect since I don't expect to use it much for animals. I could also use Wild Shape to summon a familiar, which seems appropriate given the character artwork.

Wow I didn't know that Druid Circle existed. That is some really cool flavor, and perfect for our adventure! 🤩

I've got a request for Find Familiar, one of the familiars listed on DnDBeyond is Flying Monkey, same stats as most of the core list of familiars, but weaker than most of the familiars because its ability is pack tactics which is irrelevant because familiars can't attack.

But it's the perfect flavour!

Sounds good to me. If it's a bit weaker, is there anything you'd like in order to beef it up a bit?

Thanks for the offer! Like I said, deleting Pack Tactics because it's irrelevant for a familiar means the flying monkey is depowered. I'm not sure it'd be sensible to shoehorn a new ability to replace it, but I do notice that it's a Small creature, unlike most of the familiars which are Tiny. If you don't mind I'll lean in on that aspect. Maybe it can wear armour, or carry a backpack with stuff inside. With opposable thumbs this could be useful in opening doors, stealing things, throwing things (so long as it doesn't resemble an attack action), carrying healing potions to another party member, etc. Things like that.

Works for me as long as it's reasonable :)
