IC (closed): The Last of Us/ The Walking Dead

I have some extra time and I'm interested in running another horror game. I really want to run a game of The Last of Us (TLoU). I absolutely loved both TLoU I & II video games and I want to explore that world a bit more. Unfortunately, there is no official ruleset for TLoU. There is a ruleset for The Walking Dead Universe (TWDU), though.

I figure I should be able to adjust TWDU ruleset to bring TLoU to life. There's a lot of crossover between the two. Both delve into the lives of the survivors and relationships with others. Both have crazy factions. Both have havens where you can take a break and maybe enjoy life for a minute. Those same havens can fall to the undead, or to another faction. Both deal with a world that has gone to hell.

The one difference between the two is that TLoU has a variety of very cool undead. TWDU seems focus on swarms and push the undead into the background. I'd like to adjust that a bit and bring some of these horroribly mutated creatures into the game.

This won't be a hack and slash game. The main focus will be the struggle of living in a messed up world. I am really looking forward to the interaction between the PCs and the environment. The interaction with varied undead just adds to the horror of the setting.

Anyways. I'm looking to see if anyone is interested.

Please note that this is a horror game and will deal with uncomfortable topics - largely body horror and psychological horror. I don't include sexual violence or violence against kids/animals.

I would love to see how TWDU could play for LoU. All I know about Last of Us is the Series that was on HBO a while back, I haven't played it... yet.

I enjoy the system for TWD. I don't know much about TLOU other than the first game was praised, the second game was... highly divisive (haven't played either game), it was turned into a series on a streaming service (haven't watched it), and Halloween Horror Nights had a house based on it last year (enjoyed the house).

Oh man I love this idea! I don't know the TWDU ruleset but I'm a fast learner and I love survival horror (with drama)!

Don't worry about knowing the lore of the Last of Us. My plan is to use it as setting. I don't plan to follow the story of either game. I like the monsters better.

The fungus zombies are definitely cool!
