"ONCE MORE INTO THE BREACH!"
I have DMed Lancer in 2021 and I got enthralled with the system. These days I would like to try my hand again at DMing Lancer. I played online, and in person, and I have quite some experience when DMing play by post games.
The game in short: pilot cold-fusion powered mechs in a heavily tactical game! You are a Lancer. You are not just a mech-pilot. You are a Lancer, one of the few individuals in the galaxy with the skill to pilot a mech.
Before picking up a story or a setting, I would like to see if there is enough traction for Lancer to be playable. The setting is enormous in itself, and the relative engine of ships allows pilots to live long lives. That means even longer time-frames can be a thing.
Ideally, Lancer sets up a story in which the pilots (or namely, the Lancers) are the good guys, but shady stuff can still happen. The setting is so wide you can fight enemy mechs as much as you can face cosmic paracausal entities.
I would like to read if there can be some traction. We could do the veritable good guys swooping in to save the day, a day-to-day Union force entangled in a devastating civil war, we could run a mercenary company together. I have some ideas already.
