Hi all!

A while back I ended up with an aborted STA (1e) game due to my not realizing how overbooked I had made myself. Now that (most of) RL is calmer, and the new 2nd Edition of STA Core rules has released I find myself wanting to run something in either the TOS timeframe (2260's) or post Picard (around 2410-2411).

Would anyone be interested in giving me a shot at running this? :) If so, which time period would be preferable?

Hi, I am very interested!
I've got the PDF of first version, hope the 2nd is not too much different (I'm downloading the quickstart in the mean time).

I really prefer the Post Picard timeframe.

I'd be interested, though I'm an NG-era girlie. I never really watched that much TOS and struggled to get into Picard, that said I'm happy to play in either era.
I've played a little bit of STA 1e, but not much and it was a while back...

Ok, I'll be 3. I did a quick search and I'm not sure I found the correct edition you referenced. If you could toss a link to the rules, that'd help. I've seen most of the Trek, up through 1st season Picard. But I'm not concerned with the era, I'll happily play whenever.

I'd be interested in trying this, but fair warning I have never played a Star Trek game, including the STA (1e) & (2e) systems. I have watched, and enjoyed, it from TOS up to NG and then the films. Never watched the more recent versions. So if you are okay with a bit of a newbie I'd be onboard for it.

I've played STA once and I thoroughly enjoy the system. I'd love to be considered if there is still room.

Hello! I too would be interested though like @dariendarksun85 I have a lot of 1E materials and the 2E quickstart. Though my understanding is that it is very compatible with a few tweaks.

I am happy with any era ... though admittedly grew up in the 90s so am by far more intimately familiar with TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

2e is mostly tweaks here and there, biggest change really is the dropping of challenge dice! Looks like you've a few crew, but if a slot opens up y'know...

My apologies for not responding. After a round of sickness (flu that hit hard. :( ) and a loss of power/internet for almost a week (power was a couple days, and just got reliable internet back) I've been able to get back and take a look.

I honestly didn't expect as much interest but am glad there is. :) I think I narrowed down the timeline to around 2411, 10 years after the events of ST:Picard season 3. In my mind there is a lot of potential out there at that time.

For those curious about 1E vs. 2E I would say it's about a 90% compatibility between the two. There are some tweaks going from 1E -> 2E for most species that aren't specifically included so far in 2E. I think the loss of challenge dice may be an improvement, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

This is the 2nd edition book I'll be using and this is the quickstart if you want to see the changes.

I'll get a forum all set up and some details then will send out invites. :)

Still looking for one or two others. So far, looking at having CMO, Chief Engineering officer, Ops Officer and Chief Security officer. other positions wide open, including the XO. :)

@Knighthawke: I am still interested if there is still a slot available? Because I am not that familiar with the ruleset I'd punt for the Chief Security officer, but maybe the Navigation Officer is another option?

Yep, you should have an invite. :) Navigation/Conn might work best for you.

Hi, if there is still room, I'm interested.

I have ran 1st Ed and played online in some other games.

I just have the Quickstart , but I see the online character builder has 2e updates in progress, so should be hopefully OK.

Not a problem, anything not specifically 2E we can look at and adjust as needed. I'll send an invite shortly.
